Write Up: OTW Mod - One Touch Windows

Yes that is correct with the drivers window. It may work just fine wired it, I cannot remember which I did.
I believe there is perhaps a ground for both up and down positions for when you are programming it? Once it is programmed you have to remove the grounding and wire it per operating instructions.

Also, if you want windows to roll up/down when locked/unlocked, you just have to send in a power feed that had 12v continuous, even when car is off, if wired properly, it functions with lock/unlock, this also has to be programmed fro proper operation just like the one touch up/down.

Did you end up wiring in for the one touch down?

Well my truck had one touch down from the factory so I just hooked into the up wiring. I don't really off road much, but I do drive on base, and to a coded gate at work every day. So I will get plenty of use from it!

 

I just ordered the 535T. I assume it's correct and will work? new number i guess?


i just want windows to go up and down automatically. No remote function wanted. and I don't have aftermarket alarm(just the one that came standard with our trucks)

Am I all set??? Or did i order the wrong one?

 

nope your good to go my friend, the wiring diagram is exactly the same as the one in this thread, just dont forget to ground out the proper wires for programming and then attach them properly for normal operations after auto programming is complete

Quick question to the people who were having problems with the drivers window not functioning properly. When you guys installed the 535 to the tacomas window harness, did you leave the auto down wiring factory with no 535 connections or did you guys splice any of the 535 wires into the switch side or motor side of the tacoma wiring harness. If anything I'm about to bust out the volt meter later on today or tomorrow when it cools off a bit. Thanks

 

It took me a week but I finally found this write-up! Thanks bro life saver!

 

I’ve been through 2 - 535’s now...they both stopped working. I had both wired inside the cab in the kick panel. They symptoms were that the pass window would only go down a couple inches with each push of the button, so half dozen times to get it all the way down. Once down, it would work properly, one touch up and down.

It worked fine for a while, them stopped and started the symptoms above. Anybody else? Better product out there?

 

Yea I've been dealing with that as well... I can trick it if you hit both buttons at the same time

 

That happened to me too and I ended up just removing the 535t all together. I then thought maybe it was due to water damage, but since yours was behind the kick panel I doubt an excessive amount of water got to it. I have another one lying around and was actually going to install it today but maybe I'll hold off until this gets figured out. I went through two 535ts with the same problem from both.

Yea, I read earlier in this string that moisture could be an issue, so I extended everything to the kick panel. The first one worked for almost a year and the second one was less. I removed the device and left all the wiring in place, but reconnected the circuits so the window controls work for now.

It’s a shame because it does work well...when it works.

 

Same. I just got mine re-installed so we'll see how it goes. I took apart the 535t and sealed the unit itself. Then I mounted it on the door panel underneath the arm rest to hopefully avoid any water that may find its way in there. Lastly I sealed it under plastic sheeting. So if it goes bad it definitely was not from water haha

 

It really is a shame. I love the one touch up feature and use it so much without even thinking about it. I still blame Toyota for not having this feature to begin with. I drove my brothers 2016 4runner the other day and that has one touch up and down at EVERY WINDOW!! I am so jealous of that lol

 

Update on this. It still failed. My window started going up an inch at a time. As soon as I took off the door panel I noticed an electrical burning smell. I tried reprogramming it and nada. I want this feature bad enough to keep trying though. I just came across the autoloc wc1000 window module. I guess I'll try that.
