If you can remember, confirm the measurements once you receive your bushing. Would be truly appreciated.

You don’t want to know the answer to that question…..

Damn @Superdave1.0 thats a good price.
When my Tundra one went out, dealership wanted 600.00 labor, no warranty, and totally suggested that’s the way to go. They first told me it was my wheel bearing and said it was getting hot. I told them BS since I used my works very expensive FLIR camera after driving on the highway for 40 miles. My passenger side was actually 10* warmer:rolleyes: . They changed out the wheel bearing, handed me a bill for 1003.00. I whipped out my Toyota Care card and gave them 75.00. I drove one mile and called the service advisor to schedule another appointment to fix this BS.

Then I handed the service advisor the TSB and he decided that maybe more diagnostic time was needed. They called me back:

Option 1- replace with crappy factory one.

Option 2- replace with ECGS bushing with no warranty and money out of my pocket.

I chose option 3. Whipped out my Toyota Care card, gave them 75.00, and told me to call when done. They changed the complete front differential. 2700.00. Lazy ass mechanics.

Hell we have all done it. Get all excited to complete a job, tear it down, and them realize....wrong part.

I just did this six months ago like a jackass. I was changing out the injection pump on my LML Duramax before it exploded and cost me 12000.00. Had my truck all torn apart, tried doing this job 3 weeks after foot surgery (highly recommend not doing that), and a few parts needed replaced that I couldn't just go to the dealer for (turbo inlet band clamp was cracked/serpentine belt for the dual alternator upgrade). I just laughed:
-Snow was coming in and needed my truck.
-Commuter car is a Lexus IS350 rwd.

When to Discount tire and purchased 1300.00 in snow tires.

See...it could have been so much worse...and this job is no joke.

Never thought I would actually say this, but I was literally in a one legged ass kicking contest with myself.

It's amazing Toyota replaces the whole differential as the "fix." Several companies make the bushing that corrects the issue, yet they refuse to accept it as the proper repair. Some folks are on their 2nd or 3rd new front diff due the needle bearing. Toyota has wasted lots of resources on this.

Maybe the front diffs really are bad. Yet every single time someone replaces with the ECGS bushing, problem is solved.

    I collect needle bearings ha:

    Holy crap....

Maybe my front diff was bad??? It started making noise around 56K miles. Now to be fair, I towed pretty heavy and at times needed 4wd (within the limits of the truck) and used it on my mountain property a lot. They totally knew I was under warranty, but from my understanding that doesn't really generate a lot of money.

I have a 2008 IS350 with 215k on the odo... literally the worst car ever made, in the snow. As soon as you let off the brake, the rear tire will just spin and spin, under idle.

If you are ever going to change gears or put in a locker wait until that time. I understand/heard the ARB locker has a bushing already in that location. I'll have to verify that with ARB before I do my front end work.

You are correct. I just got a front ARB locker for the front diff, and yes, it eliminates the need for a passenger driver's side bushing or bearing.

It does this by providing additional support to the CV.

This thread is about the driver's side, not the passenger side. Have you stated things backwards?

I totally agree. Hell when my summer tires get worn, I sometimes have trouble getting up my driveway.

Put some Michelin Ice-X on it. I was plowing through the snow. In fact I was so impressed, if there is 6” or less my truck will be in the garage. I was shocked. Like you, we get snow and purchased a tractor for snow removal.

these measurements are a little different than another poster came up with - he did mention that his caliper may not have been accurate.
