    I wouldn’t go there if there wasn’t a fire.

If you have a forced air furnace, buy a HEPA furnace filter and run just the fan on recirculate. Keeps the air nice and clean indoors.

Come on down, you're welcome anytime. If you want to get away from the smoke though don't come in the spring when it's prairie grass burning time.

We drove through Kansas moving down to Texas from Washington, and passed miles and miles of sunflowers. My wife looked out at them and proclaimed that they were even more than I could spit.

I know you just moved here, but FYI this isn’t normal for the PNW, West of the mountains. Though it does seem to be increasing in occurrence.

we taped the seams around front door and only use the door to the garage. We also have a bunch of air purifiers. My parents don't, so we had them tape a HEPA filter to the back of a box fan. It works very well and for a time they had to change the filter daily. This is a simple, effective way to help clean indoor air.

We had/have Very Unhealthy/Hazardous air today. Good luck to you and to all in the path of the fire and the choking smoke.

And last year there was none. This wasn’t a thing west of the mountains in the PNW till roughly 5 years ago. I’ve lived here my whole life and very distinctly remember the first time there was smoke here, I believe it was from fires in Canada at that time. Fire season is definitely getting worse.

I have been told. With how close I live to Hood National Forest I kind of expect to happen every once in a while.

Same here. Were sealed in the best we can. The outside air hurts my eyes just looking at it. I can hardly see 100 yards. Portland is supposed to have some of the worst air in the WORLD right now. It's hanging over the whole western side of the state.

That's part of the problem, It was hot, dry East winds blowing it out to sea.
What we need are the cool, wet West winds coming in off the Pacific (should be here Monday and last all week)
