2011 Tacoma V-6 and I do my own maintenance. I bought a dozen OEM genuine Toyota oil filters part number 90915-YZZD3.

I have five different socket type oil filter wrenches and not one of them fits this dam filter.

Does any one even know if they make a socket type cap wrench for this size filter and what size it is? One of the ones I have has 2 sizes 74mm and 76mm but I think these filters are some 1/2 size in between or maybe a 75mm. I hate the claw type one size fits all that have 3 posts because they suck and have no grip. Even the mechanics at Toyota can't tell me the size or if there is a socket type that fits this filter.

    Any help out here?

    Thanks

    GaryL

Hey! I am in my 60s and have been wrenching for as long as I can remember but Toyota just had to make some bastard size filter that is near impossible to find unless you ask here.

Going now to Amazon for a 73 F-ing mm socket. Thank you

Interestingly enough, wanna taco is also in his 60s and he was the one looking for a correct filter wrench. ;)

Get one of those palm size rubber grippers. They usually have them at the dollar store, 2 for a buck. Drop over filter. Cram on existing small filter socket. Use wrench or ratchet to remover filter.

This.. I use a blue shop towel in between the filter and socket on my wife's Ford. Works great.
