Nice looking 5 lugger. You'll find tons of taco builds here and the companies that folks have used to acquire their modifications and parts. Check out the first generation build section in the forum menu.

Lol, I don't know why that emoji cracks me up. It makes me smile every damn time I see it. It's not even funny, but it tickles my funny bone for some reason.

very nice truck, like @thunderone said, wish I had a little 5-lug to run around in.

as for your question, don't touch a thing, they run great on their own and that one looks already done. if you want to race it, please exit stage left, just my 2¢ :D

My thing is handling since a truck is heavy and a 4 cyl is slow. However truck suspension components can get them to corner really well and I've enjoyed driving my 4cyl 2wd 5 speed on and off-road because it handles so well even with "stock" TRD suspension out of a newer truck. I'd vote for some really good adjustable coilovers and maybe just a drop in afe filter and some headers. Then check out some upgraded sway bar options if they're out there.

I don't think you'll be breaking any axles, if you have the manual transmission some good synthetic gear lube will make a big difference - like night and day in my truck when it had 100k and probably never had new oil added. Redline MT90 made it feel like a new tranny by comparison.

Edit: if you want speed and you have a lot of $$$$ then check out these threads:

Turbo or the elusive S/C would be decent but for me LT is bleh, just get a Pre and do LT, save the 5-lugs for what they are better at :)

It was for the turbo not the lt. I'd stick with turbo vs sc for the 4 cyl - people seem to like that route. I'd build your truck for street performance for sure.
