It seems like most people either love or hate the extra electronic features. Luckily you can turn pretty much everything off if you desire. As far as the equipment failing 100k miles down the road, time will tell. All vehicles are heading down this path, and generally the features in the Tacoma have been around for a quite bit now. They're just finally trickling down to non-luxury vehicles. In my mind it's probably the same growing pains as any new feature that comes out and isn't needed that's now in just about all vehicles, like basic cruise control.

Time will indeed tell. Hopefully it all works out.

    I'm sure haha

Toyota in the 80s and 90s though are very different from Toyota today. I guess that's my concern with the parts QC. No way to know till later

Everything they make is cheaper than when it was. Plastic quality has really gone down. Things like that. Newer cars just feel cheaper to me than they did. Like they won't last as long.

    That said...

If they made an AWD version of that new corolla hatch back..would drive.

I didn't really consider that, I'll have to look into them. One option that I'm planning on doing since it will work with my stock suspension and future suspension plans is an air bump kit. That way when I do bottom out it'll at least be softer. May bite the bullet and throw in an add-a-leaf as well to get me by.

Yeah but awd means I could drive it year round haha

Wish the RS was affordable and reliable I'd be all over that..

There is more competition for sure. The new AEV Colorado in diesel would be worth looking at now I think. Granted I hated the Colorado my grandpa bought..so who knows.

I'm not ready for a new vehicle no matter what so for now I'll remain in the 90s haha totally fine by me

That's true. I'd drive a raptor if I was in the market to compare.

Can't you not get them with v8s anymore? I thought it was turbo v6s only now..I'm sure they are awesome. But also huge haha so the raptor ranger would be more close to a taco. Though I thought I read that the raptor range wasn't coming to the US?

Either way. That's a shit load of money. I'm still not even in the mind set of credit yet and living payments month to month. Not ready for that past rent and hopefully a house payment next year.

Ah interesting. I don't know much about them other than the frames bend haha

Diesals would be good. I think the Bison once it's decrippled from emissions BS it'll be a powerful and move...well providing the tranny isn't a turd which it likely will be

There's an SVT fully loaded raptor for 44k. Wowza. Pricey.

Also 11mpg city 16hwy...not gonna be nice for a 50mile commute hahaha

Not yet it doesn't. Only has 53k on it but ones with twice that are only going for 23-28k.

So...only way to have it retain value is to not drive it...which I can't afford to do that haha

Dude that was cool. That's not the airblaster guy is it? Your telling me there's two of these guys in Montana?

    Nevermind same guy.

You don't think he's a top piolet? How so? Does some incredible stuff in his films. I also don't get how his stuff isn't viral. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

Eh I'm not sold. For that much the interior should be way better. And it's not much different from a standard one and I've been in those which aren't anything great.

The thing that makes me want a raptor is watching Jeremy drive the Hennessy one. But that's a 100k truck

You must know something I don't. Supercharged raptor would be sweet. Granted I think a supercharged tundra would be just as fun. Cheaper too.

Yeah be a hard sale for me. I see your point though if you were constantly changing vehicles though be fun for a year or two. I'm not sure I could get a loan like that haha

Idk I hate mixing drone "pilot" with real pilots in terms of the label. More so operators in my opinion

We're supposed to get a good chunk of snow this weekend in the passes, will make xmas tree hunting harder for sure. But better too, since there might be fewer people out and will also be fun for sledding with @mini.turbodb. Also might melt in the next couple weeks if it doesn't stay cold.

Transmission mount question. This amount of play alright in the mount? I've never really looked at it before, so I don't know how much space should be there between the flanged bolt head and the mount...

    IMG_20181115_112338.jpg

Edit: just found this - seems like maybe I just need to tighten up the bolt a bit... https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/transmission-mount-center-bolt.412915/
