Eh, I have no trips planned and no one that wants to go into the snow with me. Might as well sit on some forums and wait for a used one to pop up from this years hunting season.

 

I think they stopped selling yes. I believe they shifted to the switch. When they last contacted me about running switch he explained that he makes switches for big name companies and they were shifting over. But I didn't think they were gonna stop totally. But maybe they did..

The good news is they were just generic lights. You can get them else where. I found them somewhere else give me a second

 

Eh there are tons of similar options out there. Lots of better ones now

Flickr is acting very odd. Every photo i open says sharing is restricted then i have to reload the page which takes forever to get the BB code.

Well I have tabs with yours, mine and mikes albums open. And joshed and Marc's at the moment. It was fine last night.

 

Anyone running 255/85/16's or have ran them in the past? Looking as a possible option next tire purchase.

Yep. I'm rocking KM2's. Love the tire size and the KM2's they have performed amazingly in everything I have done.

The only negative thing is that I have taken out 2 sidewalls but I don't think that is the tires fault per se. They are some of the stronger sidewalls on the market so I doubt any other tires would have faired much if any better.

With that said I'm pretty sure my next set of tires will be some swampers but that is because I was something taller than a 33 but still skinny.

 

Seen that, I was just wondering about locals running that size considering the weather and what not. I was looking at the Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx and the KM2s.

 

I really like the Goodyear Duratracs in the snow.

 

My dad had the STTs and they did awesome. Great all around tire and did better in the snow by a lot compared to my km2s.

They run the st maxx up on the slope and they do okay.

 

Im running 33x10.5s in KM2s. Just a bit wider and shorter that 255/85s, but still very much a 'narrow 33'. They've done pretty well on most circumstances. Mine are siped as well. If I stay with a 15" wheel, I will stay with this same tire for the next set.

 

Oh yeah forgot about ice, winter was too many months ago. haha They don't seem to have the best traction on ice (but that is typical of a mud tire) I never had an issue, but knowing about it before hand I just air down to 20 psi and run that during the winter.

Don't confuse snow and ice. My tires have does amazingly for me in the snow. Mark (IDtrucks) and I crawled out of some pretty hairy shit last spring in them that required us to air down to 10 psi but they performed great.

What would be your reasoning for going to a bigger wheel? If I could run a 15 I would. Tires are cheaper for 33+ sizes. Hell you can get 35's around $80 cheaper per tire just going from 16's to 15's. If you go from 17's to 15's that difference increases again, though it doesn't quite double. Prices differences between 33's seem pretty similar. Plus the smaller wheel means you have more sidewall which should be a smoother ride over rough terrain since you have more rubber to absorb the blows.

 

So how's everyone been doing? It snowing in wy yet? Lander good Marc? Been too quiet in here haha
