Weird, I’m guessing it’s using a fail safe strategy to run.
I can clearly see the sensor pickup plate in the picture above. So we know it’s there. Lol

For some reason the ECM isn’t seeing a crank signal.

Not sure if this helps regarding ECM signal but if I space out the air gap (air gap is about 0.030, so from what I've read it's in spec) between the reluctor wheel and the crank sensor then the engine will turn over but not even fire for a second then sputter out like it usually does with everything connected. Not even sure it shows RPM while cranking spacing it out but I can't remember.

So to be clear P0335 sets when the cam sensors are unplugged and the truck won't run and P0340, 343, 345, and 348 set with the sensors connected but the truck runs?

P0335 sets with cam sensors plugged in. That is the only code set at this point with everything connected. Barely fires then dies immediately.

P0340, 343, 345 and 348 set with cam sensors unplugged. P0335 does NOT set. Engine runs as in video.

Ok I gotta sit down and digest this and see what I can come up with.

Ok I have a hunch that the cam sensor connectors are possibly swapped, if I knew the year model of your truck I could tell you wire colors for the connector on each side so you could verify them.

2005 4.0 XRunner. Red wire one is plugged into passenger side, yellow wire driver side.

Well shoot, according to the wiring diagram that appears to be correct.
The only other things I can think of are physical timing being off or and incorrect or damaged reluctor on one or both cams.
Since it will run on the crank sensor alone that leads me to believe that the crank signal is good, have you tried plugging one cam sensor in at a time and seeing if it starts with one or the other plugged in?

The OCV's don't come into play until higher engine RPMs, they wouldn't cause a no start if swapped I don't believe.

Passenger side cam sensor disconnected, it will fire for a second then die like usual (will attach video).

Driver side cam sensor disconnected, crank only but no fire. No RPM signal either. P0335 and P0343.

Man I really don't have anything else that doesn't require a scope, I'd really want to see what the signals look like.
There's really nothing else I can think of to do at this point as a next step besides verifying cam/crank correlation which requires at least a 3 channel oscilloscope.
I have a known good capture if you track down someone that has one.

Thank you thank you. I'm guessing it would not be adviseable to drive to a shop with the cam sensors both disconnected for fear of rebuilding more heads and timing being off?

That's hard to say on how it would run, up until today I didn't know a 4.0 would even run without both cam sensors.
If the timing was off far enough to bend valves I would think that would have happened immediately the first time it was cranked but I didn't do the timing job so I would have to say follow your discretion on that but I would advise against driving it until it's determined what's going on.

Did you use a new timing chain or reuse the one it came with? It might have stretched during that ordeal

Based on the evidence and the work that's been performed at this point I think a scope capture of the cam and crank signals is gona be the only thing that's gona give the answer to what's going on or at least provide some clues as to where to look.

I reused the same one. I was given the ebay receipt of it dated to a couple months before I bought it so I made the assumption it was good but assuming is dangerous.

Since everything is pointing to ECM or at least electrical, I popped open the glove box to find this. It appears the purple wire in connector 2 has been messed with as well as blue and r/y in connector 3. Any or those ring crank wiring bells? Will do more tracking when it's light out.
