Crashnburn80 can answer better than me but I do not believe you will gain anything replacing your h9 bulbs with another halogen bulb. I don't believe they even make a performance halogen h9. You would have to go with a h11 and then may have to modify the tabs. You probably only gain a shorter life span.

My harness resistor experiment did not work as the lamp head end not match the tacoma housing. Ordered the standard ones.

Installed my @XenonDepot Phillips 4300k HID kit, I've read about what a difference it is on TW but you don't appreciate it until you compare, holy cow!

Were you ever able to pin point the issue? I recently installed the same exact kit and I'm experiencing the same problem.

yeah would of been a lot cheaper probably but this was a quick and easy way to test.

I did get my 5000K XD lights today but the dealer has my truck for a few days...so i can't even test em!

Followed most of this guide got mine installed
Today. The washer reservoir was a pain in the ass to take out. But you need to or you won’t have a lot of room to work.

I just need some fog lights to match the headlights now

I know this is a thread for the 4300k Philips bulbs..but a few are wondering if switching to a 5000k bulb changes anything so I'll post my findings here in a few hours. I got my truck back from the dealer and installed the bulbs. Just waiting for it to be dark enough to go test.

I just went back and moved some wires around and pushed in the connections tighter. I havent had it happen to me in along time, so im guessing that fixed it.

Oh no no sorry for the confusion. Truck was at dealer for warranty work. Got home and installed them.

The shake is MUCH less now. As in I only notice it on big potholes and then it's still not as bad as it was before. I'm happy with the 5000k bulbs.

Thank you for the informative feedback and the pictures you provided. So it seems like the issue is not isolated to the rebased Philips HID bulbs as you also had a slight issue with the 5000K bulbs as well. Having said that, looking forward to hearing what happens with the Civic as to my knowledge we haven't had reports of this issue.

Whats the difference between h9 and h11 LED for lows? Aside from the mounting pins, do they operate/draw at a higher current? I think you're the first Ive seen run the h9s in the low beam, just curious because Im considering the h11 LEDs

In your first picture, the H9 looks almost brighter than the HID, in picture anyways. How does it compare in person?

I installed the XD 5000k kit the other day. It wasn't too bad, I did the relay as well just to be safe.

Passenger side was definitely harder, I removed the washer fluid res just enough to push it slightly out of the way which gave me just enough room to work, barely. Hard part was figuring out where to mount the relay without blocking access to any of the bulbs.

I had the Hikari LEDs in the low beams previously, I moved those to the high beams for now since I live in the city and haven't used my highs since I purchased the truck. I think I liked the outward appearance of the truck better with the LEDs, they just looked better, but the throw was noticeably worse. I've always liked the HIDs and I even like the warm up because I think it looks cool. All in all far superior throw with the HIDs and surprisingly much better flood as well. I also know that the HIDs burn hot enough to melt off snow so that's a plus.

I do notice some bounce with the lights, only when I hit a relatively large hole or bump. It's noticeable when I'm looking for it, but I probably wouldn't have noticed had I not read about it on this forum. So far it's only been a couple hours of night driving so, we'll see.

Thanks for the feedback on the 5000K H11 Xtreme HID kit and glad to see you're overall happy with the results :)

No problem! You would want the LED diodes to face 3 and 9 o'clock as shown below:

I finally installed the H11 HID kits in Phillips 4300k after sitting on this project for a month. I ended up not using the provided harness and went straight to the OEM one and it was fairly painless. Used the 3M tape to secure the ballast and some 3M tape for the other module because I didn't want to drill.

Anyway, I did some testing last night on dark roads and construction area for bumpy roads. Let me first say that I love these lights! So much better than the stock of course. Then I did notice some shake but I probably would not have noticed it if I didn't know about it. I can see it if I am staring directly down on the road in front of me, but if I was looking far off, I would not notice it at all.

XenonDepot is probably correct in saying that these HIDs just show what we couldn't see in less bright LEDs or stock bulbs. It's just that we see more definition now? idk. For me, it's a keeper since I love the throw and the clarity that I now experience.

I have yet to install the LED high beams, which is probably moot at this point since I barely use highs and these lights are so clear. I also have turn signal LEDs to install.
