They're the ones that bought XD.

Someone said they emailed XD and didn't receive a response. So I was just saying I got a response to an email I sent within a day.

Never heard of a Charlie that works for XD. I’ve interacted with them many times, certainly not claiming to know everyone though. Unsure if maybe anyone else has worked with Charlie.

Do the Morimoto's also suffer from bouncing/shaking?
Currently looking between Diode Dynamics and TRS.
Haven't heard of bouncing coming from DD's HIDs yet.

Not sure. Let me email them (TRS) and see what they say . Maybe Crash can chime in what causes shake.

People on the forum have reported bouncing issues with the Morimoto HIDs as well. All the brands blame it specifically on the Tacoma housing.

Oh well. Can't be helped then.
I can live with a little shake. Main objective is better lighting .

Ive had my morimoto's for over a month now and have zero shake. I know thats not a long term review but just saying. As far as lighting they are head and shoulders better than stock and the led's I ran which were dangerous in my opinion.

What about from DD's hylux CN Ball HID's? Have there been reports of bounce/shake from them?

It is interesting how Halogens or LEDs do no show a similar effect.

If it is Tacoma headlight specific, I wonder if it happens on aftermarket headlights also.

Unsure on the other brands as I have not paid close attention to them. But to be clear, not all people experience the bounce/shake even when running the same product. Some see it, some don’t.

    Thank you for your input,
Still on the fence on which HIDs to choose.

Does DD or TRS have any TW or active discount codes at the moment?

I'm not sure I would make that assumption. They used to charge like $45.00 more for the Phillips 4300K bulbs over their standard 4300K XD bulbs. I don't think they are now offering them at no extra charge. They had many problems with those Phillips 4300K bulbs as their rebased , not a complete Phillips product, read all the posts on them. But by all means let everyone know if they are Phillips

I wouldn’t assume that either. They optionally came with Philips bulbs as an extra cost upgrade. If you look at their site, the upgrade is no longer listed. If you look at the specs, the Philips bulb specs have been removed. They just
haven’t removed all the references in all the places, including those in images which would take more time to edit. That video is also from the 3rd, it appears the last time they logged in here was the 4th. The video also shows the XD bulb, not the Philips.

I've been a happy Phillips upgrade fan for awhile now, but recently noticed the shake and bounce over rougher pavement. Checking on their website, over the past few weeks, I too realized it isn't even an option anymore.

I'm hoping they are not incommunicado and will help figure out a solution for their 'upgraded' bulbs.

I can say from my experience the XD 5000K bulbs have been in my truck for over 4 months without any shaking and you only lose minimal light compared to the Phillips 4300K and the light is whiter with a very little trace of blue at the top of the cutoff point.

See the comparison I posted on the previous page. The specs say you only lose a little output, and that is likely true if comparing to the XD 4300k vs the XD 5000k, but the Philips 4300k bulbs are 25% brighter than the XD 4300k bulbs.

When I first ordered my HID kit from Xenon Depot I ordered the Phillips 4300K Bulbs that were defective and shorted out one of my LED DRL strips. They realized they had a problem with the bulbs and offered to replace them but I wasn't going to chance putting in another new Phillips possibly defective bulb and losing another DRL strip, you have to replace the entire headlight assembly. Received a call from Steve @ XD and talked about my concerns. He told me the Phillips start out @ 4300K but burn in to 4700K after about 100 hours and the light lose from using the 5000K XD bulbs was negligible and I would have to agree with him based on my results

Received reply from TRS regarding shake. These guys are quick responding.

Thanks for your email. The Tacoma's factory projectors have play in the mounts and due to the increased light output it's easier to notice. My brothers Tacoma does this, and many others. The halogen lights are generally not bright enough for one to notice! If you remove the housing seal and wiggle the back of the OEM projector there are good chances that you'll be able to feel the play, and the projector shifting slightly. There isn't an easy fix at this time, a new housing from Toyota would probably be the only way to remove the vibration you are seeing. Thanks!
