In the process of removing the badges and XSP-X “bling”. The grill is next on the hit list. I plasti dipped the door emblems, but they may come off too. Lastly, Meguires ultimate compound is AMAZING! I had some definite ghosting. I did a quickie job on my rear quarters and tailgate. Holy %€£+ what a difference and the ghosting is completely gone!

I may plasti dip the lower cladding I took off the front bumper, but I haven’t decided. I’m of the train of thought that less is more. What do you think?

Well, she needs a bath(I did wash the areas I polished...lol!). The post purchase detail in the “bling” pic is providing an unfair advantage...unless you prefer your trucks a little dirty.

    Looks good OP!

I kinda like the silver accent on the front end, use to have a 98 black Taco with silver trim on the fender flares and running down the bottom of the truck. It gave it a different look than the solid black you see everywhere.

I kind of felt the same way after looking at these pics side by side, but the light in the pic with the lower cladding removed isn’t doing the new look any favors. I also should have got some better pics of the rear quarter decals and tail badges before I removed them. These pics are somewhat anticlimactic.

If it was a functional package, I would probably embrace the badging more. However, the XSP-X package is mostly ornamental. They embedded badging on the skid plate and in the interior, so it will still be recognizable to those who know The Tacoma brand. You are correct though, it definitely stands out....

Rmvd XSP-X badge on grill and plasti dipped emblem. May keep the chrome for a while until I can afford a new rear bumper for balance.

Anyone in NC want to swap out a chrome bumper with their black one?

Chiming in. What did you ever do with the front silver valance piece? I might be interested in it if you still have it. Let me know. Thanks.

I think I’m gonna take the emblem off the door too despite blacking it out. I’m also considering removing the hood scoop, but I’m still on the fence about that.

Xsp-x Unite! I debadged mine the second day I bought it new off the lot. I do still have the bedside decals but those will come off in the spring.

Just removed the hood scoop yesterday...

I have an IFS skid from SOS sitting in the shed that I am going to put on after I service the front diff. So other than that and the silver bumper trim the only xspx stuff will be in the interior lol
