Xtrusion Overland just launched their XO Skeleton 3 in 1 camper, it can be a rack, an enclosed topper, or make it a full camper.

I am going to be putting it on my 2021 Tacoma and share my experience and opinion of it when they start to deliver, around June July-ish.

Love the look of this, are there any pics of the camper configuration on a real truck? Don't find many campers like this designed for the short bed.

This one would be very unique because I don't see a lot of extruded aluminum system based campers, however Go Fast Camper, Super Pacifica etc have been making similar sized campers like this one for a while, personally I am not a big fan of "having to drive my truck cross country to pick up a camper" model of theirs. So Xtrusion Overland is a very good fit for my need since they ship in parts to my door and I do the install myself, like building a lego.

Here is some picture of these style-sized camper on 3rd gen short bed tacoma.

no weight given that i have found. that's an important detail given our meager payload.

I found this on their website. Even at sub 350lbs, I am still planning on installing a pair of firestone airbags in the back for the camper.

Price looks very reasonable as well, unless I'm misinterpreting pre-order pricing. ~$2500 for this is really decent.

yea unfortunately $2500 is just the pre-ordering price.
    upload_2024-4-12_14-13-16.png
so If you are looking for a camper for short bed taco, that'd be 2300+1500+4100+300= $8200

Nice that you can get it piecemeal though, even if the final cost is about the same. Plus less shipping cost.

This has been flooding my IG and FB feeds lately. I like the idea of it being modular, I don't like that the full height rack/cap sits a good 4 or 5 inches higher than the cab. Instead of making it sit higher to accept the RTT, leave the frame/cap at roof height and include a taller base on the RTT should someone want an RTT.

    I'd imagine that's why there's a 15" and a 21" height version.

But the 15" version does not show as compatible with the RTT.

After measuring, the 21" wouldn't even be enough to clear the sharkfin antenna on the 3rd gen, and roof height would be about 19.5".

These also looks very similarly built like the packout campers https://packoutcampers.com/ too. All these etrusion types campers/racks are pretty but the same thing we just need someone to start selling just the brackets

Not really - the biggest thing about this one is that they'll send it to you flatpack vs 'going in for an install'.

Not sure about 15 or 21 but both would be compatible with an RTT (not a camper). Only the full height version would be compatible with the xtrusion overland camper top piece.
As far as the clearance, I would not be concerned too much since they developed the product using 3rd and 4th gen tacomas.

I mean Xtrusion overland does have the rack only and topper only option without having to opt for the camper top. I do like packout campers too, but I am very satisfied with xtrusion overland products in the past.
