I created this thread cause I didn’t find anything on it in the 3rd Gens. I drive a 19’ dbl cab short bed

    I ride a Medium 29” Scott Bike

    I purchased the Yakima PTS08-34070
On Amazon for $90 (Rocky mounts does sell a similar item for less. But I’m a fan of Yakima)

then on eBay I purchased the front rail for $40 (Not sure why 3rd gens don’t have it)
    PT278-35100-BH

I was nervous about it hitting the tailgate but it doesn’t (with my bike that is) but here are some pics! Maybe this will help someone in the future

Nice, I'm trying to set up the same thing. What type of nut did you use to mount the rack to the rail? I thought I was all set w/ some left over t-nuts, not realizing that the bolt width (3/8") was too large for the Yakima Blockhead. Seems a trip to the hardware store is imminent.

Just curious, I've been entertaining different approaches that others have posted on here.

I like it. I was considering that mount, but just went the crash pad route.

BTW, what is with that seat?:bananadance::rofl:

Ah, thanks. My kit didn't come w/ hardware but I was okay with it as I thought I already had some hardware I could use right away.

I suppose I can widen the holes on the mount, but doing some research prior to doing so.

Keep pedalin'!! I have never understood why bikes come with the most ridiculous uncomfortable seats then you have to wear padded shorts to be able to sit on said seats. Seems to me the better approach is a padded seat, but then the bike wouldn't look as cool.
