He may have been a Government Motors Union thug.I was on a job once and the union president worked there. He told me that the problem he had with me driving a Toyota was that it was not union made.70% American made but not union made.

I don't see the silverado being built in Mehico. I don't see alot of stuff being built overseas, who knows though, that shit may have not been updated.

    .
Down in Fremont, about 40 miles south of me, last of the Toyota Union shops, when GM pulled out, Toyota didn't need to move in as much as it wanted to break the unions, so it opened up the San Antonio plant and took virtually no one with them, it was a devastating loss to the local economy, that closing ALONE, drove up the state's unemployment rate by one percentage point. If you include the local suppliers to whom the plant was their only customer, around 40,000 people lost their ways of making a living, yours was made right before the plant closed. Toyota was making the Tacoma and the Yaris here, sales remained strong and the margin on the Tacoma was good, it could have held out, it could have courted for another roomie but it didn't want to. By the the time Telsa came around, Toyota was long gone.

Nailed it. I once got out to let a guy know his Bronco's spare tire carrier was swinging around off the back of his truck and nearly had a fistfight right there before a single word was said. It was pretty damn amusing when he realized why I had gotten out of my truck. :p

As for the original topic of this thread, I imagine the person shouting resembled this...

If the Tacoma had 5% more of its parts made in the US, it would be considered a domestic vehicle.

Personally I would tell anyone who told me to buy American to suck my dick since I am a retired USAF vet.
But on another note I think we should buy Mexico, fix it, hold on to it for a couple of years and flip it for a profit.
