Bought the Mossy Oak 30 oz double walled, blah blah comparable tumbler from Wal Mart for $12. I have the Yeti 32oz, so I'm in the middle of a head to head test... I cooled both of them with ice water for an hour, and then emptied them and filled each with equal amounts of water and 15 ice cubes. Put them both in the shade at 103 degrees on this HOT So Cal day. I'll post with the winner when the loser loses its ice!

They feel about the same weight, although the Yeti feels a little more heavy duty (maybe I'm biased). The lid is much thicker and higher quality on the Yeti. Similar action on the gasket when removing and putting on the lid. If I didn't have the Yeti sitting right next to it, I'd say quality is near identical on the stainless cup.

Is the Ozark Trail model the same lid thickness as the Yeti?

Whoa, whoa, WHOA! My friend, you have made a grave error. This is not the Mossy Oak tumbler Fan Club, this is the Ozark Trail tumbler Fan Club. Your test is invalid and your results will be stricken from the record.

AAHHHH I went to Wal Mart looking for the Ozark Trail one, and I couldn't find it. Damn it, I had a semi-controlled environment and everything!

For $3 more you get a closable lid with the Mossy Oak though.

Yeah it's not water tight though which is a bummer, but closing lid is still better than open only.

Like I've seen on posts in this thread, the stainless bodies are all probably made in the same factory in China anyways.

The smaller the workers are in the factory, the better they can make that seal. So factory makes the difference, Chinese or not. Smaller factory = smaller workers = tighter seal. Right?

Not sure what you were implying, but @dimead0zen was comparing the thickness of the Mossy Oak lid with the Yeti, not the Ozark Trail lid.

I wouldn't call the Mossy Oak crappy. It has the sealable lid, which is a benefit.

2 hours in, ambient temp has gone from 103 to 100. It appears the Yeti is winning by 1 or 2 ice cubes (yes, that is a scientific form of measurement). Stay tuned.

I was able to pick 2 30oz tumblers from walmart. They had hundreds.....I wanted the 20oz tumbler, but they didn't have any.

3.5 hours in... Now the ambient temperature is 96 degrees. It's a tie... I've had 4 witnesses all come to this conclusion independently. I guess there's maybe 30 minutes or an hour left until both have no ice left. Very impressed with the Mossy Oak, seeing that I can buy 3 or 4 of them for the price of the Yeti.

I'm guessing for the rest of this test, the two will be at a dead even amount of ice left.

    FINAL RESULTS ARE IN!

4 hours 45 minutes in... The Yeti ran out of ice! Within 5 minutes the Mossy Oak ran out as well. I'd call that a tie. Pretty impressive in this record heat.

Which makes me wonder...who doesn't drink a whole big glass of water* within 4 hours when it's 100 degrees outside lol.

Exactly... Should outperform any one-drink coldness requirements.

The only thing I can think of is filling it full of ice in the morning and refilling throughout the day, which I plan on doing tomorrow at work. We'll see how many refills the ice survives!
