Put in a couple more hours last night & got several things done. Torque converted bolts are in. It was a real pain trying to get the holes in the flex plate lined up with the tapped hole's in the torque converter, but a little persistance paid off. Also got the starter back in, AC compressor bolted up, power steering pump in & several other odds & ends taken care of, spent the rest of the night trying to figure out the wiring harness. I labeled everything on the wiring harness when I disconnected it, but some of my labels are falling off or smeared with grease & unreadable. I had to go back & look at all of the pics I took but I think I have it figured out now. Next step is to start working on all of the vacuume lines. Not really looking forward to that.

 

Brought my exhaust manifold with me to work today, It has one damaged stud on the end & one tapped hole with all of the threads pulled out. I'm gonna have to get creative with this thing

TKGN1 got the jacked up stud out of the bottom of my exhaust manifold for me. It took a nut, a welder, a torch, a wrench ANNDD some vise grips to get that fucker out. Thanks Buddy.

He is not expecting the 5100's to be here untill friday so there is no rush. It's my turn to buy lunch this week so maybe Thursday (I can't tomorrow) we can have lunch & trade stuff then. It's up to you.

Damn it, I need a heli-coil kit for my exhaust manifold & no store in town has one. I could order one thru work but it won't be here for 2 days.

 

I just bought an AC adpater kit. For 2 aluminim pieces shorter than an inch it cost 40 something bucks.

 

I just ordered a heli-coil set, hope it comes in soon. Damn hang-ups O'well, even if I don't get it untill Thursday I should still be able to get it rolling for this weekend.

I spent several hours last night trying to work through the wiring harness & vacuum lines. What a pain in the ass! This motor has crap running all over the place & figuring out how all of the lines run & what goes where sucks. So far this was the most frustrating portion of the re-installation. I have just about all of the wiring harness done & maybe half of the vacuum lines. Also I got the distributor stabbed, hopefully in the right place. I am pretty sure it's right, I just followed the instructions in the FSM, if it is off by a tooth then I will figure it out & fix it when I am trying to get it started. Here a re a few pics of where I am at right now. You can see I still have loose ends, but I know where most of them go.

I broke the wire that goes to the coolant temp sensor & of course it broke off flush with the connector so I'm not sure how I am going to fix that,

 

Thanks, those torque converter bolts where a bitch, but once I got the holes lined up it was just a matter of getting my hand & a wrench into that tiny inspection hole . I still need to give them a final tightening but I need somebody to hold the crank pulley still so I can tighten them without the motor spinning.

 

Well shit that was fast, to my suprise, my heli-coil kit came in on UPS this morning I thought I had ordered it too late in the day to get it overnight, but I am not complaning.
