I want to replace all of the injector seals, but I have bought seal kits from every auto parts store in town & they are all incomplete. I can get the o-rings all day long but there is also 2 rubber bushings that I can't seem to find. For some reason the seal kits come with one of the bushings but not both, so I called the dealership & they have the ones I need in stock for $2 each. Leason learned, I am going to call the dealership first next time. At least I have all of my parts ready to go for this evening.

x2! I love working when it's cold outside, the only thing that sucks is some chemicals don't dry below 50 degrees which sucks.

I got some done tonight, texasislandboy came to help & we got the fuel injectors painted & reinstalled, upper intake is back on & we replaced a bunch of vacuum lines. I Thought I had everyhting, but I still need a couple more gaskets to finish up. We went ahead & took the throttle body off of the upper intake to clean it up, it was filthy. We froze our asses off! I am going to have to get some propane for the shop heater before I do anything else. I hope I can get the gaskets tomorrow, I am going to call the dealership first thing in the morning.

Hey Strom, I was wondering if you would mind helping me out with something. I have a set of wires that where just zip tied back, not connected to anything, here is a pic. Could you tell me where the other end goes on yours? I also found a few damaged wires in the engine compartment, It looks like I will be doing some soldering.






In the second pic, the two wires that run into the black wire loom, run all the way to the other side of the engine compartment & are tied off, not connected to anything.

It is pretty obvious that the wire has been disconnected for a long time, the zip tie that was holding them out of the way was so dry rotted it pratically feel apart.

 

you call the dealer yet ???

 

Yeah, I called & unfortunatly they don't have either of the gaskets in stock . They ordered them & they will be here tomorrow. I guess that means that all I can do tonight is replace the bad wires, & keep replacing vacuum lines. I am going to go ahead & get a new battery today & put some gas in the tank so that when the gaskets do show up, all I will have to do is bolt up the throttle body & EGR valve, then hit the key. Of course there is an 80% chance of rain tomorrow too.

 

I wish I could push the front end of this thing into the shop in the back yard, I don't care if the door won't close, I just want to be able to work on it out of the rain without displacing my taco from the garage.

 

use the 4wheeler as a anchor and use a come-along to pull it in

 

The 4 wheeler only ways 500 pounds, No way it will be a sutiable anchor to pull the front of the 4runner over that 8" lendge.

That would work if we had a place to anchor it.

 

im sure we could stack something up to my a little ramp put the 4wheeler sideways it cant be that hard

 

Now that might work, I have a big pile of rocks that I have been meaning to put in front of that ledge anyways for a ramp. If I made it a slow grade, I bet we could push it in pretty easy. Me & Andy moved it last night & it pushes pretty easy. It is already right in front of the big door so that we could work out of the shop, butnot enough to stay dry. Damn it now I have to go home & shovel rocks after work.

 

hahaha i think youll live man just heat the shop now and youll be first class

 

I am def. going to get some fuel for the heater today, it is my top priority!

Shit, I won't be off untill 6. I think I will be alright though, I can make my wife & little sis help push & my next door neighbor will do anything for a beer. LOL
