So what's the farthest stretch of road you have put under your truck in a single go??

1200 km round trip in one day. Not much at all. I plan on an Alaska/Yukon trip. But that won't be till next year. Hopefully hitting Whipsaw this month, so that will be pretty close to 700 km round trip.

Back when I had my 1st gen, I did Hampton, VA to Corpus Christi, TX going through Dallas. Over 1700 miles each way, did this trip a few times in each direction.

I borrowed my dad's 94 for a day when I was in high school and drove to the next state. Borrowed isn't the right word. Boy my grandmother was pretty upset when I told her I was working and she called up where I worked and they said I wasn't there that day. :(

    Stupid younger me :anonymous:

Planning to go see my folks in Maine in a couple years in my first gen - 7k or so I guess? Can't wait :D

I've only driven from San Diego to San Francisco and San Diego to Yosemite. So that's what, 400-500 miles one way...just a few stops for fuel/food/restroom breaks. I found out the other day that my neighbor (also a 1st gen owner) drove from San Diego to Alaska and back. He said he tallied up about 5000 miles on land and 1000 on the sea/ferry.

I drove from San Francisco to Reno. Not a very long distance, but it's through the Sierra-Nevada and the Donner Summit. I had an A340F transmission and a Front Differential in the bed and boy I felt that truck struggling. It was about a 7% grade for 50% of the trip. At one point I was so slow and the Tacoma couldn't keep up with the weight and incline I had to go in the truck lane with my flashers on because I couldn't go faster than 25. Keep in mind I have the 4 cyl and not the v6.

I actually got a check engine light for the first time during that trip. Something about the system running too lean - P0171 I think.

850 miles straight through except to gas up. I wasn't in the greatest mood afterward though... back pain and ringing ears. Honestly, I think the Gen 1's are more comfortable than the Gen 2's, they just aren't as smooth on the highway.

3000 miles 5 times over a period of 5 years, back and forth from East to West, then back West to East (10 x 3,000 mile treks)...30,000 miles plus, and I threw in a trip to PEI for good measure, drove up from Virginia, about another 2500 miles round trip...

700 miles. Then I turned around the next day and drove another 700. That was last year.

Myself and my 2002 have seen the Atlantic, Pacific and the Gulf. The farthest NE we've ever been was Indianapolis.

In one trip the most distance was to San Francisco and back through the Sequoia National Forest (2,200 mi one way). This was completed over 3 days each direction.

Drove my 1st gen from Galveston, TX to Portland, OR (roughly 2300 miles) over the course of a weekend for a rotation at the hospital in portland. Then, a month later proceeded to drive back, but this time I stopped by yosemite and the grand canyon on the way back to texas.

Few times from Sacramento to Death Valley (around 400 miles each way) some via South Lake Tahoe some via Tioga Pass. That was about 7-8 hours each time, never complained about the sit or truck performance (I4 with MT). I could do 90mph flat or 70mph over pass (on third gear) - that is 2 adults and one child plus stockpile of stuff under the camper shell. This was before I bough Isuzu Rodeo which I drove 4k miles in one week vacation and later 4Runner which I took for 5.4k miles 2 week vacation spin.

My longest trip in Poland was 250 miles when brought it home from the port, and after that only 2-3 miles a day (if I'm driving at all).

This sounds just as bad or worse than when I towed my crx up the grapevine in my 1st gen. Bed full of tools/parts and I used an "auto transport" instead of a tow dolly. I also had to go in the truck lane but was able to keep it at around 40 mph (v6 auto). NOT DOING THIS AGAIN...

950+ from my house to the black hills SD. Finished my sas 3days before the drive out there, drove the truck around town for less than 100miles, loaded up and went. Wheeled for 5 days, put 400 miles on the truck sight seeing and drove it home. The Toyota/wheeling God's we're watching over me on that trip, zero drama besides out of round super swampers.

Aha I was going so slow once I had a bobtail truck overtake me. I could have totally kept up to speed of most of the other drivers if I wanted to, but I didn't want to push that engine too much. ECT was a godsend. Couldn't have done that 7% grade without it.
