I do not envy what your going to go through in college haha, but I do envy the results.

EMU for fuel and ignition control as the Toyota ECU didn't come equiped for boost, the Split Second to intercept the o2 signal the the OEM ECU doesn't learn around the EMU ;)

The laptop is running Ubuntu, but it was turning into a magical journey trying to get the EMU software and driver to work on Linux. Wine got the EMU tuning software to work, but the drivers were no fun. So to get the project rolling, splun up WinXP in a VM (for context, Greddy only makes the software work on 32bit Windows-- actually not even that so I guess 16bit drivers?)

Kits like this make me wish I have a 4cyl. Great MPGs, great power, reliable when done right.... It even has an OEM look, cast manifold, recirc wastegate-- drool

Wait wait wait, you want to swap to a 2.7? Wouldn't you be downgrading?
I was planning on doing the opposite, swap to a V6 and a TRD supercharger.

IMG_0234.jpg IMG_0235.jpg IMG_0236.jpg IMG_0237.jpg I post this yesterday in the "what have you done to your 1st gen today" but thought I'd also post here because I haven't seen someone do this yet so maybe it's "unique."
I used a 12ft 2x6 and measured the width of my bed. Cut two to the same length and layed one flat on top of the bed rail. The other was notched on the ends and used as the face so it sits on top of and is tight underneath the rail. Flushed the second board to the top of the first one and screwed it off. Drill two holes for bolts to mount my jack and slide my topper c clamps back to cover where I notched the second board. This was the best idea I could come up with without spending money and without making holes or something permanent in my truck. I will also mount other things and throw some bedlights hidden underneath. Give me wood and I can make anything.. give me metal and I can just bang it together and make some noise.. jealous of what a lot of you guys can come up with when it comes to metal and your ability to weld. I think this is a very simple and effective way to be able to mount a lot of things and now I also have a sweet shelf to set my beer and phone when camping in the back of my truck. Let me know what you guys think! Anything I could have done to make this better?

^^^^^^^^Cheap, easy, functional. What else can you ask for. I personally think it looks great. Can't hardly even see it painted black. Nice job. And the idea of lights under it, hmmm, might have to use this one too. lol.

Nice. Just starting out working with wood myself. Just built this for my jack in my extended cab. Working on plans for a custom sub enclosure for the bottom, with storage built on top of it. Hope I can pull that off.. Gotta figure out how to better secure the jack mechanism itself from rattling to the bass tho. Ha. Got some quickfist mounts so hopefully that'll take care of it. If not, damned things coming back out and I'll mount it in the bed. Wanted it out of the elements, but oh well. Can't take the rattling.

I'm sure it is secure but the thought of a heavy jack behind my head would scare me. It all looks very clean and well done

Not sure a Grill Guard is unique.
But here's my Grill Guard w/o headlight covers.
I think it looks pretty rugged, especially in front of my mesh grill, it also provides additional options for light bar mounting and plate relocation.20170119_165900.jpg

I also have 16" factory aluminum wheels Powdercoated Flat Black.
When i bought the truck I worked at a machine shop that Powdercoated a lot of their parts.
Rather than paying a powder shop $100 per wheel, I was able to do it myself for free.

That's what I did for mine. I don't trust plasti-dip to not peel off on the trails and regular black paint wouldn't have matched the tires and plastic trim the way I wanted it to

Hey guys i have a question. Don't mean to hijack the thread, but it does pertain to mods. I want to install an oe cruise control system into my 95 tacoma. Is this possible with my existing wiring? i know it was an option for the tacoma(maybe not the 5 lug) but i would think the wiring looms would be the same and that a subharness would be able to just plug in. If anyone out there has a first gen tacoma (preferebly as close to 95 as possible) could you please post some picks of how your CC system is wired from the factory, also the switch and where it plugs into (im assuming the clock spring). Thanks guys!

Not sure about a 1995 Tacoma, but it is possible. My '98 was pre-wired for CC but didn't have it as an option. It took me quite a while, and a lot of research, to source the parts.

In my case, I needed the actuator, computer, control switch and brake switch (all OEM parts). I got all of them from various wrecking yards. It looks and works like factory. All the connectors were there, just not plugged into anything.

Mine has a 2-cable actuator, yours might have just one, not sure.

Great lookin truck! One question though, is your light bar upside down? Never seen one curved up like that before.
