Finally installed my small lift this past weekend. Was a piece of cake, but took a while as I didn't have much help. My pops lent a hand here and there but didn't stick around.

The fronts went on no problem with a little help from a 2x4 to push down the LCA. FYI- you definitely should suspend the spindle from the frame with a piece of wire. Thing would flop around and destroy the brake line otherwise. I also tied off the sway bar linkage so it didn't poke a CV boot and so it was just out of the way. Tricky getting to the rear most top bolt but hell, that's the fun.

The rear leafs and shocks were fine too once I figured out which spring went on which side. Momentary lapse of reasoning skills.. It definitely helps to do one side at time to keep the axel in place. Just use the jack to reposition slightly if the bolts aren't cooperating.

All said and done I gained 1 3/8" in front from the 883s and 1 1/4" in back from the 3+1 TSB leaf springs. The new ride is perfect! Stiffer but not too much. Just right. I am totally happy now with this truck. Before she was a bit lazy, but not anymore. She's perky now and feels all-around more controlled. With the tires, just about a 2" lift.

Got an alignment today from the Toyota dealer bc they were running a special, after the lift the steering wheel was a few degrees to the right and she tracked slightly to the right as well. After the alignment I think my 10-20mph hard acceleration vibes, which I've had all along, might be gone (we'll see..).

The only issue now is I have a squeak in the rear. Sounds like some metal on metal type shimmy or something over small bumps. Going to track it down over the next few days..

Thanks Wheeler's for the shocks and springs. Thanks TW user chetweewax for the leafs.

Had a chance at work tonight to take a few shots with a real camera. Always liked parking garage shots. Something cool about the lighting... You can really see the dual blue/purple characteristic of the Nautical Blue Metallic:

Fixed the squeak in the rear end by spraying the spare tire chain lift with silicone spray.

My take-off vibration (medium to hard acceleration between 10-20mph) is still there, but greatly reduced after alignment. File under "all good, deal with it, It's a truck."

Still blown away at how much better she rides with the upgrades. I know it gets said a lot on TW, but this is HOW THIS TRUCK SHOULD COME!

Made a pair of the Quick Fist brackets this week. These are freakin great cheap ways to mount your camping/trail gak.

I left room on the bottom of each bracket to consolidate if I ever need to.

Looks great! I was actually thinking about doing the same lift (883s) but with the 90000 or 90021 shocks from OME. There are just so many options, it's hard to decide which one to pick. How did you end up deciding on this lift vs one with billstein 5100 for example?
Thanks for sharing your experience and pictures!

I had 5100s all around on my 2000 extended cab (set a 0 w/ stock non-TRD spring) and a Wheelers leaf pack. That truck rode like a ton of bricks, so I thought I'd try something new... One day I am going to go all in and get a full 3" OME kit, sliders, bumpers and 285s but that for when I have much more money, time, and the truck gets a little older.

That's what EVERYONE says. In order for it to remain true, you need to cancel your TW account. Nice start. Keep it up.

Chalk one up to my Hankooks, rolled over a beer bottle parking last night. Made a hell of a pop. Tire is fine.

Looks awesome man. I'm rocking the same truck and just ordered my OME kit. Still haven't passed another nautical blue off road driving yet, gotta love the fact we don't have silver taco's!

Next up will be the 'Toyota' TRD Pro grill insert and a color matched surround. A cap (or soft topper most likely).

So, you didn't like your old 5100's but how are the 883's with those shocks you selected? I'm looking at adding 883's like you have just to bring the front up a bit for more clearance on 265/75/16s. Would you still recommend the 883's and non-sport nitrochargers for leveling or would you have gone a different route in hindsight (assuming you were to go for about the same amount of lift). Your lift/wheels look awesome.
