In honor of all the Vets in here, I though we could have a fun discussion about trucks.
This piggybacks on a discussion me and my buddies were having over SEVERAL beers last weekend.....

If there were truly a Zombie Apocalypse coming our way and you had to pick only one truck in stock form to get before their arrival what would it be? A truck that was the most off road capable to get as high up into the mountains and off the grid as possible in stock form.
First choice for me was the Jeep Rubicon with the quad locker and stock ground clearance but then someone suggested out new Tacoma's for the relatively light weight and small size to get in and out of tight places with the locker and a-trac/crawl control.
    Other suggested a Raptor.....
    Thoughts?

Have a great Veterans Day and a big THANK YOU to all those who served our great country.

In case of a Zombie Apocalypse would you trust a Jeep for Quality?

State Side, a Ford F150. Overseas a toyota highlux.

In either case I want a 10 to 15 year old one, so I can scavange parts as required.

ETA: stock tires uniformly suck, so something I can get better tires for on my way out of town :).

    Hummm, I'd say Landcruiser.

Also a side note, for the walking dead fans out there, remember the season where the farm got overrun and they met back at the interstate? Was I the only one screaming at my tv "SOMEONE GRAB THAT 4RUNNER!!!!!!"

2016 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Access Cab 4x4. Perfect vehicle to wreck shop and get me from point A to point B and back to point A. Access cab would be loaded with weapons, ammo, water, rations and a sleeping bag(w/fleshlight :taco:). Maybe if there was enough room in the bed, my CRF450R.

    Happy Veterans Day Brothers!

Once you make the road everyone will know right where to go. ;)

To answer the question though, i believe in being prepared for the unknown. I bought my 16 trd or for several reasons, with one of them being that it is quite practical if needed to go off the beaten path in a shtf. Good mpg, more compact than a full size, and somewhat falls into the gray man concept of not " standing out like a sore thumb". Any hardcore off road, swat/military styled vehicle will stand out and be a target for those who want what you have.

A M35A2 is a 2.5 ton truck (on road it is rated for 5 tons) that has an air engaging front axle.

These trucks are capable of going almost anywhere they can fit, they are large, loud, and slow (with larger tires these trucks will still barely hit 60mph).

But the amazing part about them is they have a true multifuel engine!

They run on primarily diesel, but will run on regular gasoline with some added oil to lubricate the IP (about 1qt for every 5-10 gallons). Other known fuels that it will run on are: kerosene, jet fuel, used motor oil, transmission fluid, hydrolic fluid, and veggie oil.

The only types of "fuel" that shouldn't be run in the truck are aviation gas and alcohol based fuels. Alcohol destroys the rubber parts on these old trucks.
