To me it makes sense to have a bicycle handy along with a vehicle. You can out ride the dead (provided they are walking dead slow and not 28 days fast), cover miles with no fuel and do so with little to no sound.

Because chances are, nobody lives next to a dealer that sells those. Idk how people are recommending Marauders and shit, how in the hell are you even going to find one? Do they have a dealership that sells them around the corner from your house or what?

Wow! Prices on those M923A2s are cheap!

I bet running costs are insane though...

Cheap? Compared to what? Maybe the cost of a new one. Ours is in pristine mechanical condition and the cost was not exactly what I'd call "cheap"

Cheap as in dropping $15k-$25k on one seems cheap. I mean hell, it's a LOT of machine for the price.

My M923A2 cost about $18,000 including having everything gone through to ensure perfect operations.
The HK21E 7.62 NATO Chain Gun and the MP5K will keep the zombies from getting on the truck...

My Taco is a big part of my SHTF plan. Needed a capable vehicle to get to my safe place. Not staying in my current location. 20 minutes from a medium sized city. Figure I have about 2-3 days to get out if things get really bad in the major metro areas. After getting there will be fully prepared to stay indefinitely with resources in place and what is available. If we are talking planning for an end of days due to EMP then I would have to say Unimog 416 with a crew cab body and a modified radio type bed. Been looking at something like that and the prices are not too bad.

Things like this are another reason I'm glad I already live out in the woods, 20 miles from even a small town, not near ANYTHING and have a pretty capable truck right now. Who knows WHAT will go down over the next 6 months or so?
