I'm looking at eventually getting a steel bumper for the front of my tacoma. I can't decide between the tube style or plate style.

    What all is out there?

What do ya'll think looks the best and is still very functional?

    What brands?

    Those Elites look awesome!

Ha I'm gonna have to save for a lot longer to get one of those though.
Are there any more price conscious options?

All the plate bumpers run right around the same price. I have the elite bumper and I love it.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Yeah I'm going to have to agree with everyone go with Elite that is where I'm buying all my armor. I have a back bumper and sliders coming next week and the front bumper in a few months.

I had the chance to go up to Tim's shop and see these things being built first hand and they are built well and well worth the money.

    Best of both worlds, hybrid!

I decided to build mine out of tube, and I'll be adding some plate to the front, and the front/side pieces, much like the all pro hybrid 2nd gen bumper.

the benefit for me, is that it's only about 40lbs right now before I've added plate, and I will use some thin plate, because the structural rigidity comes from the tube.

    here...

Plate is obviously nicer looking. But tube serves a better purpose. I don't wont some heavy as lower than tube bumper scraping on my rocks. Tube is easy to work with, paint, and SIMPLE to see the winch/access it!!

    Tube.
