Yes this is true, however I wont ever use it like that because the audio quality isn't as good as BT, this is only when using the entune app, if you plug it in and don't use entune, then the quality is at least 256...

divemaverick, can i ask what you did (if anything...probably nothing) on your 2012 to get the backup camera to display the "guidelines"? i have a '12 dcsb with entune and the backup camera is "blank" (i.e. there are no guidelines on the camera display, just the view of what the camera sees). i didnt see anything in the owner's manual about that.

silver12, that's interesting you mention about the backup camera not having guidelines displayed because divemaverick mentioned in his post (http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/188247-2012-observations-3.html#post4082368) that there are guide lines.

as for me and my '12 dcsb (w/entune), the backup camera does NOT display any guidelines like you. i wonder if it is an entune thing (rear view displayed on the in-dash screen) vs non-entune thing (rear view displayed in the rear view mirror)...or maybe a DCSB vs DCLB thing...i sure wish the guide lines would display!

Don`t know if you mind tearing into your brand new truck but after my Pop hit the diff lock the first time he drove my brand new `05 WHILE he was on the highway I took that panel off, popped out the switches and swapped it down by the mirror controls.

Came in especially handy after I modded the e-locker to come on anytime, not that I don`t trust myself

I have a 2012 AC with TRD package and the camera in mirror shows guide lines.I like it better without the guidelines.

Im pretty sure that the lines aren't going to show on the Navigation screen. I've been thru the manuals a couple of times and haven't seen anything about it. The setup in the mirror with the lines just looks handy as it helps sort out the distortion of the camera lens.

hmm...so based on the small number of responses posted here, it seems like the reason why guide lines are display or are not displayed is tied to where the backup camera screen display is located (in the rear view mirror vs the in-dash navigation screen)???

I know on some new Nissan's you can go to settings on the Nav unit and there is a place there to toggle on/off the guide lines. Suggest you guys with Nav, check settings and see of you have the option to toggle on or off. Oh, on the Nissan these settings only become available when you have the vehicle running and the vehicle in reverse. Then you will find settings for camera adjustments (bright, dark, contrast) and also the toggle for guide lines, etc..

Have put 1300 miles on our new Tacoma and have been very happy with it. Have added huskey floor liners, and ordered wet okole seat covers. Changed the tires to a set of 265/70/16 BF Goodrich Rugged Terrians and they look great and ride great. Mileage has bee average of 16 city, have not had a chance to do a road trip as of yet but that is coming next week. 1600 mile round trip to KY, will be able to see how it does.Has the standard stereo wit blue tooth and xm, no entune but it is fare not great. Have not had any issues with whistling noises. Waiting for the bug shield to be released along with window rain guards. Also adding tonneau in the near future.

That is excellent mileage....I'm getting 17, but still driving conservatively.

I got the 2011 window vent visors from WeatherTech...a perfect fit. I'm waiting on:
    1) hood protector/bug guard
    2) TRD CAI
    3) TRD supercharger
    4) WeatherTech floor liners (factory all weather mats very thin and poor coverage)

Agree with an earlier post that the cruise control is MUCH improved. I don't hear any wind noise either as others have mentioned.

On nav instructions with Entune, she does not talk loud enough when the radio is turned up. She should lower the music volume so you can hear instructions clearly.

Has anybody proven that the Sport seats TRULY repel water yet w/o staining??

I called them about the bug guard/digital floor liners last week and they said they are still checking for correct fit on 2012's. Did you just order or did they tell you they good with the fit now.

So when I backed into the garage tonight I left it in reverse and played around with the camera settings. Unfortunately there is no option to toggle the lines whether its in reverse or not. Options for the brightness and contrast only.
