    Dome light gets +12vdc 24/7.
Open the door and the BCU applies a ground to the blue wire found in the "A" pillar.

To add aux lighting that triggers with the doors (it won't trigger with the manual switch on the dome light), run fused 12v power to the lights, and run the ground on the lights to the blue wire.

Note: You can not trigger a relay due to the dimming feature.

If you are lost after that explanation and the links provided, then you lack the basic skills and understanding to successfully complete the project.

Pay someone else to do it. The last time someone was in your position and tried to do it anyways, they ended up melting their wiring harness and fuse box.

i don't remember exactly what I did, but that sounds right, you should just try that, and also figure out why your dome light is not on, perhaps when you spliced into the wire at the A pillar, you severed the wire completely.

    From what I recall doing.

    i used an add a fuse http://www.superbrightleds.com/more...gleBaseChild&gclid=CImsp_25zrkCFQFk7AodmEoAvg

and I think I ran it to the positive of a switch. I then ran the ACC of the switch to the positive of the LED. I grounded the Ground of the switch. On the LED, you run the negative to the blue wire.

With this set up, if you have your switch on, you can have your led's light up whenever your dome light is on, ie, when the door is open, or when you unlock your car with the remote, NOT when you switch the ON switch of your dome light, and if you ever don't want the LEDs to come on, then just switch the switch off

Get a plug & play LED bulbs. 10 Seconds to change the bulb out, no messing around with wires, electrical and you got LED's.

The LED bulbs that I have are over 2 years old now. I am sure that they are a lot smaller and better than the plug & play bulbs that I got.

Rich 91710 is right about the dome light wiring install. I followed his guide to locating the 12V hot (+) power wire off the dome light connector and spliced in a fuse connector to 18g red wire and ran it through ceiling liner and down the door frame towards my bilateral LED strips mounted under the dash

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
Find a solid state relay. That should dim and draw nothing for current.

Followed the guide exactly and now I have under-the-dash floor LEDs lighting up with the dome light simultaneously, fading out when doors close and fading up with doors open!
