OK so new to tacoma world. Im going to DIY my grill. but i can't figure out. how or where you guys get the "Satoshi" lining that the mesh will go into that gives the grill depth. I've ordered the Raptor style letters. so any DIY threads or tips and pics Would be of a huge help. Thanks

It's all custom made. It much more difficult to do on the 12+ grills than the 05-11 grills.

Yes, that's mine. Here's a link to the write up I did on the grill.

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/317210-2012-grill-mod-write-up-thin-lip-custom-car-grills-diy.html

Tires are 265/75-16 Goodyear duratracs. Procomp 7089 wheels with 0 offset, and 4.5" back space.

Lift is bilstein 5100's in the front set at 1.75". Rear is just a 1" Toytec block.

As for handling, in the rear I had an AAL before and it road harsh. This time I went with a block to keep the factory ride. The front rides fine at 1.75". You do slightly loose some handling with these tires compared to the stock tires.

what bilestiens come with the "TRD OFFROAD"??? are they adjustable at all??
a 1in block in the rear sounds reasonable. i had mud terranes on my silverado and they were awesome i will probably go with those. again. thanks for the link

No problem. Bilsteins come with both the TRD sport and TRD offroad, however they aren't adjustable. The Bilstein 5100 is a adjustable coil over that has 0", .85", 1.75", and 2.5" of adjustment.

ok good to know. i guess i will keep digging. i only want a bigger tire. and no crazy lift three inch max. but my biggest thing is to not LOOSE ANY HANDLING. or cause damage down the road. this is my last truck for a LONG time. I really like the look of yours.

There is some combinations you can do with the bilsteins. You can leave them at 0" and use a different spring to achieve your lift. The 5100 is a better shock over the factory ones, so they handle a little better, and they're longer.

As for rear blocks, personally I wouldn't go over 1.5". I would do a different leaf pack at that point. I don't do any 'major' off roading, so I wasn't worried about a small block.

yeah i just put up a post on extended coil overs for some feed back. but it looks like i will go with a new boss coil over from toytech. with there boss 2in lift compleat leaf pack. which will give me little more payload. before to much sag. which i will need. then i will have a 3in lift. looking forward to the future haha thanks for the input
