Hey, that's good! Keep doing that and you won't hear your engine noise anymore either :)

There's a thread around here full of people with a similar problem. Want to know their solution. Put 91 in your truck. Toyota left them hanging, and now they have to spend $.40+ more a gallon to keep their truck quiet.

I have 13 tacoma that was making similar noise only heard a few times when it was really cold outside, heard once or twice on normal temp days. The dealer only heard it once and for short time. It sounded awful like it was in the top end of motor, almost like a metal on metal sound, and done the same as OP in gear at a stop or when pulling out as you speed up. They replace the air pump on passenger side fender well, after they took it out I was told that the bearings inside was locked up. Not sure if they were or not, I didn't see for myself. All I know is I have not heard the noise again and hope it never comes back. The truck seems to have a lot less noise just the normal Toyota tic now.

I have also ran highest octane gas I could find since the second tank bought with 26 miles it has 12,500 now.

Not saying it would, as I have no idea what is wrong with your truck. Was referring to the OP's comment on Toyota leaving him hanging.

Oh, dang internet. Don't you know you're suppose to throw a smiley in there to show your emotion.

For example, "Toyota would never leave me hanging. They will take care of me...  :jerkoff: "
