I know there aren't many 1st gen tacoma guys or 3rd gen 4 runners in this thread but I'll post this anyway:

Cbi screwed up and sent me ditch light brackets for those models instead of the ones for a 2nd gen Tacoma. Nathan was quick to email me a postage slip to mail them back, but if anyone local wants them I could save him the shipping and give them to you for $50.

I know it's a long shot so I'm not going to wait around, they will be getting dropped off at fedex tomorrow if no one speaks up.

I'd gladly take them but I don't know if I really like the look of ditch lights :notsure:

Yea I'm not sure either. It was a good deal so if I don't like them I'll just sell them.

Anyone tried one of the ebay hilux snorkels? FJ guys seem to have good luck with the cheap ones, just curious...

Snorkel for $130 shipped is appealing...

I'd never skimp on something that could possibly screw up your engine. The know off snorkels are inferior. I know a few guys with them and they are all faded and crack easily. Joe ran completely over Josh's snorkel before it was installed and it never flinched or cracked. Mines bounced off many trees and not even a scratch.

There is a bunch of info that can be found on the web about how poor the fakes are.

I dunno man, I looked around. The cheap ones look suspiciously similar... How sure are you the ARBs aren't also made in China?

Yes. Ive done extensive research and hosted 2 group buys for them going back many moons. Ive also stopped many people here from throwing GB's for knock off snorkels. If you want to learn check out my snorkel threads.... http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/pe...gen-ss135mod-1st-gen-ss170hf.html#post2764735

Their chemical composition is shit and they stole the designs.

You get what you pay for.

I'd rather run my intake into my cab before I put China knock off shit on my intake.

Lol I was like shit there goes $300 something dollars! But it wasn't affected at all.

What I remember about the knock offs is that after a couple years in the sun they will become brittle and crack.

Oh and don't say "well the fj guys have had good luck with ...." Because although there are some that we've wheeled with that are alright, most of them are complete morons and/or don't actually wheel.

I just notice have a clunk coming from the drivers front when I was backing out of a parking spot at WAwa a little bit ago. I also noticed my oil pan gasket is leaking again, the stealer ship just fixed last October.
