I'm looking for lights that utilize the bed outlet so I don't have to wire anything into my truck.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some? I'm looking to illuminate the bed and possibly around the truck.

Are you looking for something in particular? If you're just looking for a light that plugs in, try looking at the your local hardware store for some work lights. LED christmas lights rated for outdoor use is a pretty cheap option.

Yea a flood light would be preferable. Christmas lights don't seem bright enough.

The link I provided isn't for Christmas lights. They're CREE LEDs. A 40" section is over 700 Lumen. One of those on each side would light things up quite nicely...

I did something like that to illuminate the area around the truck or work on the tailgate and it works well. Works okay for lighting the bed too but its overkill for light output and its a bit unwieldily for everyday use. I may build another bracket that will allow it to safely hang down for short trips and still be pivoted upright to use.

This is the easiest solution. I did something similar (but mounted to my cap).

BUMP i was thinking of 110v strip lights or something for the bed (tonneau cover here, its dark obviously) QUESTION if i leave the light plugged into the outlet, they lights will only go on when i turn the keys? or is that outlet live all the time?

maybe ill keep running my velcrod aaa battery cheap light that came with the cover instead

    thanks

You have to have the keys in, truck on and button pushed. Engine running if you want to use over 100 watts. There is a "400w anytime mod" but the truck still needs the keys turned on.
