I recently overhauled my 2006 OR AC Prerunner with 2015 OR OEM Bilsteins and TSB leaf springs. I am now having the dreaded vibration at around 20mph; which I believe is due to the leaf pack having more leafs(now 4) than my original leaf springs (3).

I've read a lot of threads regarding driveline vibration, and it seems that my best course of action is to install axel shims.

With that said, I'm thinking since my taco is stock, a 2 degree shim would do the trick. I'd like to make this as easy as possible as far as install goes, so can someone recommend me an axel shim that will slide under the leaf pack without having to uninstall my leaf springs? Ideally, I'd like to drop the driveshaft and slip them on.

Any help on this would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advanced

You could also try the carrier bearing flip
I have a 3" spacer front lift with 1" block in rear, never had a problem until my drive shaft was replaced last summer.
After that I had a clunking/banging on hard take offs only when truck was on an incline.
I flipped the bracket about a month ago and no more problems.
Cost zero, took about 5 mins.

Ok, I tried the carrier flip, and it really improve the vibrations!!! Not 100% gone but about 85%. I then installed 2 large washers on both sides. I haven't driven my truck yet, but should have an update tomorrow.

Thank you so much for the advice guys!!! I can't believe such a basic (free) mod can change the ride like this.

If I understand it correctly, there's no bracket at all. The center support bearing is a circle, so you unbolt the two bolts, rotate it, and rebolt it. Should take a couple minutes.

This is what I think it is, at least. I could be totally wrong.

I will try it and see, wonder if I should still keep the spacer in as well?

Honestly because it's so easy to do, I'd play around with a few combinations and see what yields the best result.

    That exactly what you do.
The side that was facing the ground should now face the bottom of truck
    Takes 5 min or less

I think the metal bracket is not centered over the rubber bushing so it either raises or lowers the CB and shaft.
    Similar to adding spacers.
All I know is it worked great on mine.
Never had a problem till I replaced my drive shaft.

Read up on driveline angle measuring and calculating, rather than a haphazard crapshoot to correcting driveline angle issues. It will save you a lot of frustration, and give the best result.

You have a link to that, as I did this Carrier Bearing flip yesterday, and the vibes got worse for me.

Yeah, it looks like a major PITA. Did you try making the DIY carrier bearing drop that I linked above? Maybe try flipping it back over and putting those in. If it doesn't work, you're only out a few bucks.

I have the carrier bearing drop in already and only had a slight vibe. But flipping it made the rear end feel like it was shaking all over the place. And when getting off the Highway today the underside of my truck made a fluttering noise, came home switch it back to the way it was. Now getting some vibes around the 65 to 75 MPH range. Had shims in it before, and took them out as they cause seriously bad vibes. Wish I knew someone local that knew how to check driveline angles???
