What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Just did this myself the other day- it's a 4mm socket- counter clockwise is down, clockwise is up. For some reason after I got my LEDs from Jumper, they were pointing wayyyy too high and I was blinding everyone. Now they're just fine.

 

Just joined Tacoma world! So I've drove a t100 from 270k to 300k blew the rod and sold it for 800$ that was the end of my yoda dreams.... I'll dig up a picture of it was pretty funny looking, I got a Tacoma years later, its a 4cy auto pre runner with 134k , I had no idea how many people loved tacomas, I'm hooked ... Just got it last Friday and I already bought rims and tires tint and front end spacers on its way

 

well brakes ordered and hopefully getting tires this weekend and all ready have the brake lines from wheelers so now im crossing fingers that the tires will clear all or ill be waiting a little longer to get the spacers and be without a truck for about a week while they ship if needed..

 

Started the punch weld mod and cut the front of the fender liner where it goes behind the window sprayer reservoir on the passenger side and the same section on the drivers side. Going to get the dremel or tomorrow and start removing some metal.

Is the adjuster on the front of the light, so grill has to be off or is it on the back?

Didn't realize 1st gens came with DRLs- is that just a TRD trim option?

 

Not sure. Mine is a Prerunner DC.

 

My tool box location works pretty damn well. But that's above the roofline and centered in the middle of the truck.

 

I just got a perfect tune using the tailgate mount

 

Just because your SWR is low doesn't mean you have good propagation.

 

Let me rephrase then:

"I just got a perfectly good enough tune, for 90% of the 4-wheeling population, using the tailgate mount."

 

I dunno man... 72% of stats are made up.

So, there's that.

 

What really matters is how it works when you need it. Do you get out and can you hear everyone else.

For years of off-roading with a local 'Jeep club' , I had a cheap CB, with a non-tuned antenna mounted to the rear bumper of an '84 4runner. I had no idea what my SWR was, and didn't care, since I had no problems receiving and sending, and received many complements on how well I sounded on the CB. You don't need to be so anal about getting a super low SWR reading and the theoretical perfect antenna mounting location. Perfection is not necessary.

Yea its using the roof as the ground plane haha.

Anywhere works if you just want to tx /rx 300ft away...but you might as well get a portable handheld cb at that point.

Yeah seriously I've already broke my wallet twice and whent for the plastic, God I hope I can run these 265/75R16 with no rub you can read for ever but there's so many mixed answers it's really just esier to test and find out for yourself, going to get them mounted at lunch I'll post some pictures after work !!
