Edited to add switch panel info...
The cubbie was replaced with this switch panel as seen in this thread

The switches are momentary switches from AOB (They appear to currently be sold out in Blue)

For the transmitter, I used my existing garage door opener and soldered wires directly to the PCB per instructions from this thread.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/no-homelink®-no-problem-first-mod.394920/

The transmitter is stuck under the dash using velcro.

I wired the transmitters to my switches using the diagram below. This allows the switch to light up the lower part with dash lights on and light up the top part when you press the button.

If you're a handy fellow, and have the ability to put all of this into a plug'n play kit, you could have yourself a nice little cash cow on your hands.

People would probably pay up to about $80 to have the same setup you have. I'm one of them.

That looks great, exactly what I am looking for! I am going to just have to buy the stuff and take it to a shop because that is way over my head!

Count me in, I think it looks great. I couldn't believe my $39k truck didn't come with Homelink.

It's much better suited for a DIY mod since it uses your existing garage door opener. It's super easy (that diagram looks more complicated that its really is), you just need a few parts and remedial soldering skills.

If @dilbert doesn't want to put together kits for these, I'll do it. For the right price, of course.

    Nothing too tough there.

Now... Who would pay extra to not have to change the battery out in the future?

And another $250 will still get you one if you've already got auto dimming.

It doesn't sound like he's interested, so jump on it. It needs to be 100% plug'n play. Include everything, even the switches and faceplate.

Make it nice, and you won't be able to make them fast enough.

Sounds good. I'll start a thread with prices/pre-orders (with an option to bail/get-refund when I show you the finished product) after doing a little more digging tonight.
