Scuff the chrome with fine sand paper and spray with etching primer before the regular primer

 

Thats jacked up man. I can't even think of what would leave those markings. Maybe ask if they have cameras at field and stream

Thanks for the tip! I did scuff before hand, but then I went to straight to regular primer. Where can I find a good etching primer?

 

Should have at any good auto parts store. I think autozone has it in their paint section.

Weird pattern. Looks like something dirty was placed against the truck, then it was lowered, then lifted. That would explain the V pattern of scratches. Where were you parked?

 

Yes I had mine there at first but I had nothing to hold it in place from moving around. Tried dbl sided tape which didnt hold so I moved it. That is a good spot.

 

Does anybody use an oil catch can? Posted in here about using one but only got a cpl responses. My second oil sample came back contaminated with gas. Possible cause is blow by so will a catch can prevent this?

 

I fabricated a wood block to mount it on, the block is 3M double stick taped to the tray.
