    It's getting there.
Hello, I recently (about a month ago) picked up what seemed to be one of the last '16 TRDOR access cab trucks in my state. I'm really happy with it and I'm already starting to pick some things out for it. First thing was carhartt seat covers (I have a pretty dirty job and a dog, so that was a necessity) but now I'm starting to try to make the truck a little bit more mine with things like ditch lights, and a CB and I'm starting to learn about suspension options (I've gone the fast car route most of my life, haven't done the off-road shenanigans yet).

Anyway, I didn't get the tech package on my truck and I'm wondering about a small feature that I think was on that package (and limiteds?) that I'm wondering if I can use Toyota parts to adapt to my truck. The trucks that have the bed lighting switch and bed light, that's really what I'd like to fit onto my truck for a factory rear lighting set up. Has anyone done this? Are there harnesses there and I just need a different light and the switch on the dash?

Thanks for the help in advance, I look forward to my journey on this dirtier side of car craziness with you guys!

Also, here's my truck in the mudhole of a parking lot at work.

The led bed lights are a dealer installed option, so I'm sure the parts are available. As far as pre-installed harness, I would think that they just tap into the cab(third brake) light wiring. I'm sure a dealer service tech could help you out with these questions

The light that works like the interior lights, with the rocker switch for coming on when the door opens, or just turning it on is a dealer install? I thought that was part of a package? It seemed so factory... huh, I may have to call up my dealer.

Thanks, for the warm welcome. I looked into a lot of those LED options and they do all look great, but I'm wondering if I can put https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OipPMRMOE5A <-----That into my truck if it didn't have it from factory. I'm not sure I'm quite sold on any of the aftermarket solutions, but if for some reason this can't work on my truck, I'll have to go that way.

As far as the hondo garage thing, I don't get it, that's camera gear, did I go to the wrong page?

You aren't wrong.... next spare $500~ (or whatever they are going for) is going to that.

Oh shit, a thing I didn't even know I needed! Those knobs are nice and the factory ones kinda suck with winter gloves on. That might just have to come out of the pro grill budget tonight.

Thanks again for the welcomes, I dug deeper and it looks like this ( https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-cab-cargo-light-switch.436440/#post-12697490 ) guy got the switch installed in his truck. The issue isn't trim level it's double cab vs access cab. I'll have to look into the brake light swap over to the DC style third brake light, but at least I know that it is possible to get switch functionality going.
