Yes, as stated elsewhere this product was already on my radar and I did my own research as I documented.

Expandable wire sleeves are expandable wire sleeves. I used what I had in my parts drawer. Any idiot with a sense of keeping things neat looms up their install. Next, someone's going to bitch that I used *black* electrical tape and shrink wrap. *rolleyes*

 

You connected the tan wire to the white wire. THIEF!!!!!

Also for anyone who doesn't want to go the ebay route and are looking for a pre-configured kit and to save some money, I'm selling the one below for $65 shipped. It's the pre-voodoo kit that nick was selling initially for $70. I redid the ground terminal and heat-shrinked it since insulated terminals look like crap. Labelled the wires and also including 2' of the wrap-around tubing I used in my install.

Relevant content is the following:

the DEI instructions have you go to the SLC in the steering wheel housing as well as go to the connector behind the PTS button.

In a discussion with @PJnc284 while I was verifying all the DEI connections against the FSM, we noticed the FSM referenced wiring harness test procedures both for the PTS and SLC connectors that showed the wires landed on the C29 connector at the Smart Key ECU.

I dug into my truck to get to the SLC and PTS connectors and performed the harness test procedure to validate that they're the same. I figured that could make my own install that much cleaner and save other folks a bit of digging when doing their own installs.

Here are the bits from the FSM: (S45 is the SLC connector, E28 is the PTS connector)

 

Right now this all sounds confusing, but I will wait until my kit arrives so I can see what it states in there, but if the C29 connector is more accessible then of course I would rather go there then have to take the steering column apart and or try to gain access to the back of the push button.

 

It's a lot easier to visualize when you're sitting there looking at it.

As for more accessible, the C29 connector is a couple inches away from where you're already working.

 

Ya I saw that and saved this picture. I was just waiting for the dball so i can reference that on which wire label on the dball goes to the c29 connector rather than up in the steering column, but yes this seems to be way to easy with all the connectors being right there in front and easy to access.

Mine arrives tomorrow, my plan is to install Monday, but I may not have time to test my skills on removing jackets off wire so I can solder dball wires onto oem wires. I can use the posi-locks, but I think it will look cleaner and be stronger with solder.

The tacoma isn't in the compatibility list for that harness. Also should be able to find it for $36 or so programmed on ebay.

 

where did you find the list? couldnt find it on the sellers page. ive also found a harness for tlth1.

I spent a fair bit of time trying to find a PnP (or semi-PnP) harness and wasn't able to locate one.

 

After looking at these pictures, something isn't making sense to me.

What connector is the SLP (C45)? It shoes that pin 4 on the SLP (C45) connector goes to pin 23 on C29 connector, but I also show that pin 23 on C29 goes go to pin 12 on the blue dball connector

 

C45 is the Toyota connector inside the steering wheel cover. I think it's referenced as SLC (Steering Lock Control / Connector) and I may have mistyped SLP somewhere.

 

The first image is just the normal toyota wiring and shows why you can tap into the wires at the C29 instead of going to the pts and slc separate. The 2nd shows where the dball wires should go.

 

So if someone had the time they would certainly be able to construct a semi-pnp harness knowing what the wiring and install diagrams now look like for our trucks?
