I was wondering if I should replace my timing belt. I'm at 102k right now.

There are no timing belts on any motor option in the 2nd gens (4.0 or 2.7L) Both have timing chains. No need to replace

^ my statement stands either way... there is no such thing as a timing belt on the 2.7 I4 or 4.0L v6 in the 2nd gens, both use timing chains which last the lifetime of the motor.

The only Tacoma engine that has a timing belt is the 3.4.

Not that I'm a mechanic but I didn't know any Toyota engine had a timing belt haha even my little corolla had a timing chain

I may be wrong, but I think the 4.7 V8 was the last Toyota engine in the U.S. with a timing belt.

Beat me to it again, NASCAR. I'm in the clear. What a load off my shoulders. Both my toyotas just clocked over 100k.

Good deal, guys. I truly appreciate your knowledge. It looks like I can do that belt easy enough. I just hope I don't lose a finger, especially my middle one..
