So will the o2 sensors get thrown off and turn on the check engine light?

The rear O2 sensors are before the 2nd cat so no worries there.

Technically perhaps but in reality theres quite a few that you can easily run catless. I live in one

Id assume removing the front cats would set off a cel. The rears can be removed without cel since theres no o2 sensor after them (and they arent on many trucks, only cali emission equipped vehicles i believe)

I contacted URD about the check engine light, and they confirmed that it WILL turn the check engine light on. So these are gonna be a no go for me. Really was hoping that it wouldn't turn the check engine light on.

Meh theres probably ways around it. Not going to give too much shady advice online but google spark plug non fouler. Work wonders for passing emissions with bad cats, can probably get one to work to keep cel off with a little modification (offroad use only!:bananadead:)

Oh I imagine there's a way around it. I just don't want to have to "trick" the truck inorder to make the light not come on. I don't have to worry about passing emissions where I live. I'd rather have a system that bolted on and no codes or anything. Too much to ask for I know haha.

It is too much to ask for aince emissions equpiment is required. Upstream cats measure emissions (sometimes air fuel) and downstream need to see X% reduction in emissions. Obviously removing cat means same exhaust across up and downstream o2 so youd need to do something to either reprogram ecu (good luck!) Or cheat the readings(would take trial and error)

I've done the spark plug fouler trick before, it works but it's just not worth it. Especially not knowing if there is any actual gains on a dyno sheet, butt dynos don't count imo. Also its not a sure thing that the spark plug fouler trick will work without cats.

Went with Vibrant Ultra Quite Resonator. Originally had the bottle style resonator, but it wasn't enough. Here's some details with a couple videos I did:

The URD y pipe added 28 HP on the 4.0. The increase should be similiar on the 3.5.

I understand that. The URD y pipe removes the rear 2 cats while the power extractors remove the front 2 cats. The reduction in back pressure should be similiar.

URD makes O2 sensor simulators which at least work for the 2nd gen Tacomas and Tundras. I imagine they will release something similar for the 3rd gen to fool the truck in to thinking there are still cats in place.

    I don't think you understand.
    Standard URD Y-pipe:

Y-pipe that he used in the dyno: (including the y-pipe and the tube on the bottom and the tube on the left, to make it equal length, AKA a "tuned" y-pipe)

You wont get the same gain out of the standard y-pipe vs the equal length one.

Has anybody tried a completely straight exhaust yet? By straight I mean set up to have no catalytic conveters and use the urd/dt down pipes and y pipes?

Haven't herd of anyone yet... Would be loud as hell though I bet w/ no cats. I have the ypipe paired with a 18" Magnaflow muffler, and had to put a Vibrant Ultra Quite Resonator on it to quite it down to a good level.

URD sold a O2 simulator for the 4.0L that removed the CEL codes. I used it when I put on the Doug thorley long tube headers. They also removed the front cats. Wonder if that would work on the 3rd gen. It's probably the same connectors on the O2 sensor as the 2nd gens.
