I just noticed yesterday after running my Taco through the car wash, my rear window was leaking water from the inside. It was literally running water. Has anyone had his issue with 3rd gens?

Unfortunately leaks seem to be a pretty commom problem on the turd gen. I would go with what ICU said above.

Common? How many reports have there been? I've only seen a couple reported here.

I've counted at least a dozen here. Run a search, Titles Only and This Forum only for word "Leak"... 90 results come up on 2 pages of threads. I counted 5 or 6 just on the first page with a QUICK glance. "sunroof leak" "windshield leak" etc.

These are just the results that people reported in a thread with the title containing the word leak. There are others reported embedded in other threads and some titled differently.

Irrelevant. TW ownership serves as a representative sample size and of that sample size I'd say this is a common issue. Just like CPS Sensor and just like the Rear diff issue that I called out and guess what? Toyota ended up issuing a recall for those problems. Does that mean there will be a recall for this? Probably not as it's NOT a safety issue but don't be surprised IF we see a TSB or official Tech Tip issued within the next year for this problem if it isn't already.

Thanks @tomwil for the links. Just called Toyota and got an appt for next Friday. I hope it doesn't take long to repair.

Well, I disagree that it's "common".

Dont go through car washes. They mess up your paint.

Really? I've never had a problem with them on many vehicles. They'll put swirls in black paint but so will just about anything else except the cleanest and softest of materials. That's why I love white...hides swirls and doesn't need to be cleaned in a sterile lab to maintain it. I don't wash my own car in AZ. It's too hot and the water is too hard. It's a pain in the ass. Tunnel wash works great to keep it clean. Pay a detailer twice a year to wax it for me.

One problem I have not had. Yet.

CPS hasn't failed but I'm in the failure pool and on recall list. Also didn't have a diff recall but have had the entire diff replaced for other issues. So yea....

TW is an incredibly small group of owners.

When a noticeable amount of members have the same issue, that's a problem.

I was mostly wondering after seeing this report if there are ways to visually inspect our trucks and see that seals and gaskets are correctly installed.

I don't really want to find out mine has a defect or qc issue out on the road in a gulley washer.

    Word.

First time I went through a wash with my Runner I had spray inside. Now I'm paranoid.
