Toytec install quote....high or low???

I just got my first quote for two different toytec setups. The quote was from a place that installs suspensions and things for off road trucks. They specialize in this sort of thing.

1) Installing the toytec 3" spacers and AAL = $300 add installing the LR UCAs = $420

2) Installing the toytec ultimate lift kit and the LR UCAs = $540

Is that high or low for a 09 DC TRD OR 2 x4?

 

I say high, because these mods are pretty simple to DIY.

 

Where about in SC are you? I just called some places around Columbia today for my 5100s and aal and they want almost 400 which I think is steep for 5100s.

 

actualy i would think the ultamate lift would be easier than the spacer lift. there would be no spring compresser needed.
are they gonna get it alligned for you too for these prices?

I am so confused about these 5100's. All I want to do is level it out. How would 5100 help me. I keep seeing people say aal or uca's so what would I need to level it out?

 

high mine was 300 for the ulk

 

get a set of the 5100 and set them to 1.75 or 2.5, you dont need a aal. you can get uca's for the alignment help, but u dont really need them, i have a 3'' lift and stock uca and i got a good alignment.

 

5100s are just a cheap lift. Its good bang for your buck with them, but there are definitely better routes to go if you want to shell out some extra bucks.

 

5100's lift just the front to bring it level with the rear

 

I was told if I get the 5100's and set them to the first or second setting then I would be going threw tires like crazy. And that my tires would be bowed. Is that true?

I've read it was easy to install the ultime kit but couldn't find any install threads when I searched. Do you think this is something a dumbass like me can do in a day?

 

Just for grins. I got my 885's, top plate spacers, rear AAL's, 5100's all around, TC UCA's, wheels/tires mounted and balanced, trimming up front and an alignment for $600 total. But that was at a private shop. I dont think it was to bad of a deal honestly.

 

We should get together and try to do this ourselves....we dont need a spring compressor (as long as I go the ultimate lift route).

 

i have the 5100 set and i got a tsb aal and toytec adjustable coils, i set mine to just over 3'' and i got a perfect alignment. if you want it level then u can set it to 1.75. if you get the tsb done or a aal i would set it to 2.5.

I would love to help, but I am not very knowledgeable about the suspension and all that stuff. If you know what you're doing, I'll be glad to be an extra set of hands for you though.

 

I would think about trying to do it myself but I'm not sure if I can do it (ultimate lift and UCAs).

Has anyone that has no idea what the hell they are doing (like me) tried this before?
