OK so the past few times I have gotten in my truck the maintenance required light has been blinking at me. I go to college in the middle of nowhere basically lol and I want to know my options before I absolutely have to take it to the stealership to get it checked out. Any ideas?

It means your due to get an oil change....Its blinking cause its close to 5,000 mi interval...pretty soon it will stay solid when it hits 5,000 mi

it shouldn't be blinking then. i had to get it changed a like maybe 1000 miles ago at a damn snappy lube. do you think they maybe didn't reset the computer or something?

Exactly. Jiffy Lube is notorious for failing to do things they are supposed to...including changing the filter.

You should read our owners manual, just for the fun of it, once.

    A lot of stuff.
    Options:
    1. Ignore the light, eventually it will burn out.
    2. Place a piece of duck tape over it and you will no longer see it.
    3. Keep telling yourself you don't see a maintenance light blinking and soon you won't.
    4. Always come to TacomaWorld for the best answers and sound advice.

Merry Christmas and congrats on being a Tacoma Owner.

If you do re-set it, remember to do it again when you get the oil changed the next time. That way it will be on the same schedule as your oil changes.

    okay..

you dont have to read the manual..really. but if something happens, it takes just a few moments to go to the index of the owner's manual and look up "Maint light"..i bet it is a simple paragraph.

there is no doubt..i am but a few years from yelling at kids to "get off my lawn" :)
