I did something a bit like jptheriot a few months ago using Ram mounts and a Kayak adjustable rail. Then modified Scosche magnet mounts for the phone and a larger Scoshe tablet mount for the iPad Pro (for my co-pilot/ navigator):IMG_8689.jpgIMG_8690.jpgIMG_8690.jpgIMG_0035.jpgIMG_8691.jpg

Both! I'm one of those "idiots" that drives around with everything on the truck. I'm not gonna let the fear that someone is going to try and take my stuff stop me from setting my truck up the way I want.

My suggestion would be to hook the flush mounted lights in your bumper directly to your reverse line and then have the ditch lights set up on a switch and possibly movable like a drop light with extension cord.

That's super cool -- how strong would you say it is? I am looking for a good way to mount my VHF/UHF radio faceplate in that area. The only other contender I've found [aside from making my own bracket] is the TPAM from Expedition Essentials but it's kind of big and unappealing looking.

I just installed it yesterday - so letting the 3M tape have time to really seal. Will be testing it over the weekend. However, to mount anything heavy (IPad) I am thinking I am going to have to drill and mount it to dash with screws instead of just relying on the tape.

It seems @Trailguy did the same thing as I am doing (see his post a couple post above). Maybe he can chime in and let us know if he drilled and mounted his trac with screws or just the 3M tape. In his pictures he has a lot of gadgets attached to his.

Sounds good! I'm diving down the rabbit hole -- it looks like a few guys have started prototyping some mounting solutions that have piqued my curiosity. Thanks for the info!

How did you mount the trac - drill and mount with screws or just 3M tape?

How did you modify the Scosche magnet mounts? I have been looking at those but do not find any with the ram ball mount attached.

Yup i did! Didn't adhere to the chrome as well as I would like but you don't even see it. The smoked out chrome was a must.

installed my new EAG grille. did an inline splice to the wire harness in the DRL. i wired it red to red and black to black/white so the ambers kick on with night running lights and normal headlights. its too dark to have them on durring the day.

Installed my 12volt solutions car starter. The video helps a lot, but the versions they use and have directions for are different than the one you get! It's easy to figure out if you don't worry that you are missing a piece or your's looks a tiny bit different. Just plug it in where things fit based of the video on their website. Took me 20 minutes max and worked on the first attempt. $100 less than dealer aftermarket solution and I have to use an extra fob.

That looks pretty clean, makes me want to get that and just wire the lights to my DRLs so they'd be on all the time. Maybe change out the amber LEDs to another color?
