Need more pics of your AC rear storage ideas!

Just like the title says, it would sure be nice to see what you've done to organize the "back seat" area of your access cab.

I've recently purchased a 2017 AC, and have been looking into bed storage, but there are always those things we'd much prefer to keep handy inside the cab.

Personally, I'll be keeping the jump seats (just in case), but I seriously doubt they'll ever be used.

Here are some of the things I've been carrying in the cab of my '97 Ranger:

A GHB* (Get Home Bag), rain gear, reflective vest, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, multiple pairs of gloves, ice scrapers, some shop towels, box of paper towels, a Streamlight box light w/ charging base, a 3D maglite with aftermarket led emitter, an umbrella, some nylon totes for grocery store runs, a couple of wool blankets, a duffel bag with complete change of clothing and sundry personal care items (for unplanned overnight stays), spare pair of boots in boot bag, emergency bag (with some food, water, radio, sources of heat and light), there's a duffel bag of winter clothing that get's tossed in during the cold months.

There's also my tool box, a small compressor, jumper cables, a milk crate full of spare fluids, and some rope and tie downs, but they're only in there because my steel crossover box rotted through couple years ago and I couldn't see replacing it. Yeah, the cab is kinda' crowded.


* - really just a small-ish shoulder bag that I keep various items I would find handy when stuck away from home. Spare contact lenses and glasses, checkbook, cell phone charger, tissues, gum, couple granola bars, etc.

I have been looking at those. Do 2 of those fit in the rear floor area pretty well?

 

Good idea for a thread. I'm still figuring out my AC storage configuration myself. Recently bought a 2017 AC. Someone said that these DeWalt tool boxes fit perfectly in the floor of the AC, and sit flush with the under seat storage bins. I bought one, it's on the way. This will replace my current tool bag to try and tidy up the storage in the AC.

Yeah, I read the "dog platform" thread and, as you did, will probably order 1 to try. One never know how any box or bag is going to work out until one starts stuffing.

Yeah I'm thinking that tools will rattle around in the plastic box. They sell a foam insert for it, but it's kinda pricey. I might just line the bottom in rubber or foam and go from there. I'll see how well it fits and return if i don't like it.

Yes two of them fit really well.

Edit: Floor area I haven’t tried. I have them on the rear seats. But I can try it out when I’m back home later today.

 

Well, this may be something I hadn't considered... You keep them on the seat to get to the under seat storage?

Also, I see quick-releases on the organizers. Is there any easy way of securing them so they don't go anywhere in a panic stop?

 

Yes. I keep my rarely used stuff in the underseat storage area. You could probably rig up something to tie into the buckles to secure it but I’m not aware of a way to do that with what comes with it.
