How is this lift treating you with some wear and tear on it? Still feeling good?

I’m thinking of doing this eventually. Thanks!

Been almost 8 months since the install, height is still the same right at 2 inches front and rear, extremely pleased with the choice.

Ride is more composed than the stock OR suspension, it still swallows the bumps but it recovers quicker, less bounce on the recovery than before.

Awesome! Thanks. I’m going to do this and keep the stock wheels but put bigger tires on. Do you happen to know the tallest tires one can put on the stock OR wheels?

Tallest looks to be a 255/85/16 based on this thread

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/put-255-85-16s-on-stock-or-wheels-and-suspension.491079/

I'm considering 255/80/17 for my next tire but not a fan of the weight with an E load with my commuting (40 miles round trip daily), may consider the 255/75/17 instead as it's still a little taller than the 265/70/17.

    Also check this one out.

    good luck!

Great looking truck OP! As far as replacing the needle bearing to ECGS bushing... did you only replace the driver's side? I guess I'm not sure what the passenger side looks like and if it needs it too! Thanks!

What does everyone do with vibrations after lifting the rear? I feel like very little people every mention what they did to solve driveline vibration issues after installing AAL, new leaf pack, of blocks in the rear. Are most people just lucky enough not to have any vibrations, or is it something that is just automaticaly fixed with shims and a bearing drop and not spoken of???

I didn't have vibrations in the rear, likely due to having a longer driveshaft with a long bed and not doing a significant amount of lift; drive line angle change was minimal.

Those that have reported vibrations in the rear have used shims; rear vibes have not been as frequently reported as the front so it's not that it's "unspoken", just not as common.

Did you measure your gain from the ground or center of wheels?

Thanks so much for this. I’ve been scouring threads on here for weeks looking for the right combination of lift, price, and practicality for my new DCLB (daily driver) You’ve definitely hit the sweet spot IMO. Cheers!

I agree. Looking at doing the same to my ‘18 DCLB. On mine I have Snugtop canopy and a drawer/sleeping platform for an estimated 300 lbs that will always be in there. My stock leaf springs settled about 1” with the addition of the canopy and my platform (plus with stuff in the drawers), and my measurements from center of hub to bottom of fender range from 20.5-21” front and back with Taco lean to the driver’s side.

I wanted to get it loaded up to see how much sag there was in the rear before ordering suspension parts since I was on the fence between 885s and 887s. I’m thinking that if the Deaver AAL will result in roughly 2” lift in the rear (planning on leaving the overload leaf in) then that would suggest going with the 885s for a 1.75-2” lift in front. I’m worried that if I go 887s I might end up a little higher in the nose. Sound about right?

The other thing I’m trying to figure out is whether to go with a Deaver single AAL or the 3-pack AAL given the amount of weight that will always be in the bed.

885 for the front should be fine, the rear I would consider the single AAL and Sumo springs to replace the factory bump stops due to the extra weight that's in the truck all the time.

Thanks, I’ve been looking at the Sumo’s as well. Your truck looks great, and appreciate the post-lift feedback on height.

One year later, front springs have settled1/4 inch from install, 1.75 inches up front when measured from center of wheel, rear still at 2 inches to maintain rake.

Still looks great and no issues. I'll be ready for new tires in about 6 months, the current tires have 32k on them.

So basically your numbers match what Headstrong shows on their website for 885s and double cabs. Cool. Also, to get 2” in the rear did you leave your overload spring in? Thx

Oh, and BTW I got my Sumosprings installed. Did exactly what I needed them to to help support the rear end with my cap and drawers in the back. Raised driver side 1/2” and passenger side 3/4”. Feels much better, less floaty.

Yes, first post write up states I left the overload in when I installed the 3 leaf progressive AAL.

I can’t wait until I get my lift installed. I have a 2017 Tacoma TRD OR DCSB. So far I have Bilstein 5100 front/rear and Icon 1.5” AAL. I will be ordering the 887’s soon. You did mention that you don’t have UCA’s correct? I’m not sure if I should snag a pair or not.

I’m also planning on leaving the overload in to gain approx 2” of lift in the rear.
