You can usually feel play in a ball joint, especially if its really bad. jack it up, pull the wheel off and give it a little elbow grease. if it clicks or pops in and out, there you go. you could also try to mount a go pro under there and take a lap around the block. Good Luck

 

Yes. Take DL angle measurements prior to lifting. Don't try to make any DL angle adjustments until after lift is installed and you get an alignment. This gets you mostly there. It'sjust math camp after that.

Skip the diff drop. Worthless shit on a 2nd gen.

I've been though 6 CV boots in 4 years, I'm seriously considering a diff drop. How come you say not to put one on the 2nd gens?

 

People on here have cracked their diff housing i think from the diff drops? Cracking something I believe. You might be better off taking some lift out of the front if you’re going through cv boots fast.

Good to know. If I may, where did you get your center bearing from if you replaced it? I had the same issue on my T4R, greased slip yoke, issue nearly resolved. There was still a little clunk, but NO WHERE near what it was. My guess is by the time I got to it (also just bought the truck), it may have been a little to late. But I read a bunch about how this plagued the 3rd gen T4R.

Yesterday I got my pop-n-lock in the mail. This morning while the wife and kids were still sleeping I went out and drank a pot of coffee while installing it. It locks and unlocks with the doors.

 

Now that is awesome. Where did you find that at?

Well I've gone through a few CVs. Maybe I grenade them to quickly for the boots to fail.

 

Moar cutting!!! Did the PS to match the DS I did yesterday. Also hammered the punch weld a little more, and wire wheeled and repainted it.

 

You need to lower your font end a bit to make that stop happening.

 

Would've been easier to get SPC's. I prefer not to beat this shit out of my truck if possible. I clear 33x11.5r16 w/out touching cab mounts. I do need to hammer the pinch weld a bit but not completely destroy that entire area. I understand some don't GAF about destroying their shit, I just don't fall into that category!
