    @G.T. is there a reason why you went 315/70R17 over 285/75R17 for the ST Maxx?

    I wanted the wider footprint so I could have more rubber for the beadlocks.

    Ah ok. Just compared the two sizes on Discount tire and the price difference between the two would make me get the same all by itself. 315/70 is $289 vs $326 for 285/75. Makes no sense to me but I have very little tire knowledge.

    Awesome build !! I'm considering buying a flippac and was wondering how you attached your awning ? Is it through bolted ? Did you re-enforce the glass somehow ?

    It’s stainless elicited rivited through the metal channel that is imbedded in the fiberglass.

    And for the record, my FlipPac is for sale.

    @loosnut hooked me up with a Matchbox version of a Tacoma with a FlipPac. Wish it was a 2nd gen but I am digging to retro graphics.

    Went wheeling with @MO Tacoma and @mcharfauros at a local spot yesterday and had a great time. Rear took a solid hit coming off of one problem.

    Looks like it’s time to dig out the @ARCHIVE parts that are buried somewhere in the pile of boxes in the corner of the shop.

    Yeah, we figured that it was crushed but the flexible hangers definitely did their thing.

    Just read through your build. Pretty cool stuff! New to the fenders. Does 2” fender mean 1” wider per side or is it to 2” wider per side. Hard to tell in the pictures

    @Slvr14tacoma those are 2+2. 2” out, and 2” rise

    I wonder if thats 2” wider than stock flares that already stick out a bit. Or 2” past stock tacoma fenders. Just wondering if 285/75/16 with 4.5 bs would look funny. Tires are about 1/2” past stock fender flares currently. If its 2” over oem fender flares that wouldnt work too well

    @Slvr14tacoma they are 2+2 over stock sitting on Hutchinson Beadlocks wrapped 35’s so they fill them in pretty good.

    Like Mike said, each fender is 2” wider and has a 2” rise pushing the fender well out and up to allow greater travel without trimming sheet metal. The factory flare styling is molded into the new glass fender and the only thing that is missing is the thin black rubber trim piece as the fender and flare are now one piece.

    Certainly torn about it as I really love what the Taco has become and ya e a heap of faith in its abilities. But I’m trying to suss out the long term end result and I’m learning now that my travels won’t likely include my wife which means I simply don’t need that much machine.

    I’ve been a long time fan of John Rooth and his adventures all over Australia on ether a motorcycle or a LandCruiser and immediately fell in love with his bobbed HJ45 Troopy - Milo - that he’s been touring in for years and even more so in his new - Milo 2 - HJ45 Ute that he’s building. I think that allot of his plans for the ute would suit me as well but a left hand drive ute is crazy expensive here in the States. Casually shopping in South Africa and Australia at the moment to sort out the prices for excellent examples so I can start running the numbers to guesstimate where I’d have to be to take on that project.

    I’m still really pining for a Citroën DS as well because my mother had one when I was a kid and I fell in love with that car for so many reasons.

    Sometimes being a motorhead really sucks.
