    Haha...not doing it...can't make me!
I have found multiple threads on this topic but they are contradicting each other!

I have two choices for American Racing ATX Artillery in 16" when ordering online:

    ax18169068612n Hub bore is 106mm http://www.americanracingartillery.com/partnumber.php?partnumber=AX18169068612N&number=2

    ax18169060612n Hub bore is 108mm
    http://www.americanracingartillery.com/partnumber.php?partnumber=AX18169060612N&number=2

Some threads say the Tacoma needs 106mm some say 108mm, after digging deep enough I was leaning towards 106. Then went to the fitment guide on AmericanRacing.com and it shows 108! Here are some links below for the next guy that goes down this road.

Ok so I did my homework, measured my hub and wheel diameter, called American Racing and got some great answers. The hub diameter for my 05 TRD Sport is 106mm. My new wheel diameter is 108mm, it is offered in 106mm but the fitment guide on American Racing recommends 108mm, why? I don't know, I have contacted American Racing regarding this and they are getting back to me.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS BECAUSE YOUR NEW LIFT AND WHEELS HAVE VIBRATIONS...CHECK YOUR WHEEL FITMENT!

You can NOT center your aftermarket wheel on a Tacoma without full contact between hub and wheel. You have to fill the gap, in my case, I have a 2mm gap. In order to do this you will have to purchase hub centric rings, your best bet is order them online, you are not likely to find them at your local wheel shop. Attached is some useful info for better explanation.

The two pictures show the the different shaped lug nuts, one is acorn shaped, the other flat(our style). The Tacoma does not need the acorn shaped lug nut because the wheel has already found true center...the hub!

If you have 108 and need hub centric rings I have the exact size you would be looking for. Let me know.

How much do you want for them? I was going to order from prestigewheel.com. Are they used?

I did take a look at Arizona's setup...exactly what I ordered except I am on a 285 with the 16" wheel. I have tires and wheels already, I'm stuck with no lift, waiting on the OME Dakar leaf spring back order so I can install my Toytec ULK.

I agree, I probably wont have any issues, especially with my wheel to tire ratio. If you don't feel any vibration or noise, that doesn't mean you good to go though. No wheel spacers is doing it the wrong way in my opinion, there is no question about it. Wrap a 285/25/20 around a 20" rim, leave the 2mm gap and I am willing to bet that your going to discover some interesting sounds at freeway speeds. Also if a person has issues with their new wheels and don't have a proper fitment, where do they start for troubleshooting?

So....if you buy an aftermarket wheel....that is lug centric ( uses the [FONT=&quot]Conical seat - 60 degree style lugs for example ) this should work on our Tacos - but with the non - Taco lug nuts....or not.

    What am I missing ???

That is a great question, I have no clue! Your not missing anything, that is kind of a different possible wheel combination. If that combination did work you would not be using the Tacoma lug nuts, you would have the conical seat/acorn style lugs. The machined surface inside that specific "lug centric" wheel would be shaped in the reverse conical/acorn to match and center the wheel. Using the original lug nuts would probably end up like this...

    Great video !

Most wheels / lugs ....are of the conical design.

Is it possible that there are no Tacos that use the lug centric style wheels ?

if your hub is 106mm do you actually think 106mm bore wheel will fit OVER it? lol, just messing with you.

108mm is perfectly fine and the correct size, no hub ring needed.

    Haha...not doing it...can't make me!

The Tacoma's have been centered via hub since I can remember, the older SR5 truck I don't know. The lug centric type is kind of designed for a different application more aimed towards a sports car. High speeds, long gears, sudden oversteer/understeer situations that require the lug combination to take stress from many different axis's and not back off the wheel. That doesn't mean that you wont find a sports car with a hub centric wheel.

If you fit a lug centric wheel on the Tacoma and reach the maximum load on any of the six studs and it shears, the other five are probably going too.

Nice, I thought that too! Its actually machined at 106.25mm, hope im not sounding like I know everything here, I just found most this info out in the last couple of weeks, just passing it on to the next forum surfer. I have been sports car guy for the last ten years, my trucks have just been driven and washed.

The main concern that came of this is that I drive on the freeway's quite often. The freeway's traffic flows at 70-80mph, I just want to be confident that my work was done correctly on my rig.

With all said and done, I have ordered my hub rings, I will install them, and forget about them, that's it....done!

Are you guys saying that we can run either a 106 without spacers or 108 with spacers. both are fine?

Man, nobody can accuse you of not doing your research. Our hubs are 106.1 mm. So as long as the wheel has a bore diameter that size or bigger it will fit. It's a good idea to get some hub centric rings for any wheels that have a bigger diameter than that to retain the factory fit to the hub.

I am looking at the black trd pro(I think they are called that). I run a 265 70 17 tire which does not rub by the way. do you know anything about the trd pro rims?

Okay, tried reading along and following all of the info, but I'm still unsure... I have fj wheels on my tacoma. The wheels don't hit the hub closely, so I'm assuming I need hub centric rings?

Is this a measurement you took or do you have a source for it? I have some Hutchinson beadlocks with a 110.3 mm hub and am ordering custom adaptors. If it's actually 106.25 and I order 106 it's going to be a "B" getting them on.

I cannot remember, I am thinking that I took the measurement myself after doing the research. After going through all the preparations, the wheels actually ended up fitting without the adapters. If you haven't ordered them yet, I can look in my parts bins and see if I still have them. If so, you can have them for the price of shipping.
