Lol it's plug and play wiring. Good luck to that guy suing someone else for using wire combinations similar his that he published online. If this was some proprietary peice of equipment, software, or actual custom hardware, that's one thing. Rewiring a Toyota harness to add a switch and rca cables has been done by dozens of AV companies for tens tens of years. Not saying it's not messed up, but that's like suing me for selling the same toyota branded door handle and speaker wire in a bundle for the passenger proximity sensor posted by someone else.

Plus risking court and paying a lawyer for a something he sells for $65? You can't tell me he's been selling thousands or tens of thousands to cover cost of hiring a Lawyer to recoup calculated losses from when this other guy started selling it to when dude #2 started. What is he claiming his losses are? A few hundred?

The install honestly isn't that bad. If I had gone through with the original equipment and not use my own switch, I'm sure I would have had it done in no time. I just decided to use my own switch and try something different where I had no expertise in and that is why I ran into the trouble I did. Just have to take it slow and accept the learning process. Helps get you to learn your car too!

I read the entire thread of the other rear camera anytime mod option, but thankfully found this one before I ordered the other assembly. From what I could tell, this guy’s option is WAY cleaner than the other, and there was no need for an additional switch to continue to listen to audio while the camera is triggered. Plus, as plenty of others have mentioned, this dude’s quicker-than-lightning assistance was more than welcomed.

    I hope JJ is okay!

So I finally got my camera to work! It was a matter of where the diode was located. JJ was able to clarify what needed to be done. Again props to this guy.

I'm not in your area, but here's a quick picture of where I soldered a 1N4007 diode (everything was nicely heat-shrinked). Note the direction of the diode (gray band towards the 28-pin). Hope this helps you.

I’d like to buy a front and rear camera set up, this looks cleaner than the other, anyone have one they want to sell that they aren’t going to use?

What part of SD are you in? I might be able to help you out. I made this schematic. I think this is the one JJ sends out. Anyways there are multiple options for installing depending on how you want to do it.

I’m in Allied Gardens by the 8 and Waring Road. I got that schematic from JJ but it’s still Greek to me.
