So I currently have an Blue Driver OBD Scanner II Bluetooth. Was looking some other ones and was interested in the Scan Gauge. I remember reading a thread on here about then but can't find it. Was wondering wjwh people's thoughts were on the Scan Gauge too?

Thanks for that. I just realized I said Scan Gauge. I meant Ultra Gauge?

I checked both out and decided to go with Ultra Gauge.
Main disadvantage is it's size. I ended up placing it in front of the RPM gauge since I rarely look at it and UG has an RPM reading anyways, but I don't use it.
Main advantage, and selling point for me, is that it has user-set audible alarms. I'm not the type to be constantly monitoring my instrument gauges; so, having an audible alarm go off will draw my attention immediately.

Get the MX model, which allows the ATF temp reading. If I recall correctly, it comes with instructions to configure one ATF temp reading, but you can actually configure it to read the 2nd temp reading. Code is one of the threads. If I remember I can take a pic from mine tonight.

Edit: UG comes configured to read ATF torque temp; the MX lets you configure a gauge to read the 2nd ATF temp sensor.

I've been using my ScanGauge since about 2007 and I like it. I've sent it in once back to ScanGauge for an update and their turn around time was good. Within a weeks time about. It's simple and reads codes. Main thing I use it for is mpg. I have it located just behind the steering wheel. It doesn't block the gauges. Only blocks the odometer since I guess I'm short.
I haven't read too much of the UltraGauge, but it looks like a nicer, and larger, display of the readings.

I think there was only one upgrade since, where ScanGauge added XGauge features (like HP readings and such). And that was years ago. I haven't seen an update lately.
I should have said "upgrade". To answer your question though, if there are any future upgrades from them, then yes, you would have to send it back for it.

Gotcha. Well that ain't to bad then. Did you have to pay for the upgrade?

I did. I believe it was $25. I guess I wanted to see the hp readout, haha. I had the ScanGauge in my 350Z and wanted to view some things.
The readings of the mpg, rpm, temps, etc. never changed and it wasn't a mandatory upgrade.

How long did it take you to get your mpg dialed in? I'm having more trouble with mine than I care to admit. :annoyed:

I don't usually double check the ScanGauges's number by hand. From what I have checked, it was pretty close and that's all I really need.
As far as dialing in ScanGauges' estimate on how many gallons I just put in, it varies a bit. I'm noticing that I have to correct it often, but not by too much. Maybe a few tenths of a gallon. I may have to recalibrate with the proper setup procedure again. I'm not sure if this answers your question or not. I try to be consistent with how I fill up, but perhaps I need to be more consistent with where (that's harder for me to stick to since I sometimes chase cheaper gas prices).
