Those Dark Bronze F5s look absolutely incredible on your truck. Any rubbing issues with the -10 offset?

Thanks, I love them! Very minor rubbing fully flexed but that’s due to the 285 tires. There’s less rubbing than the 9” wide versions would have. I think these wheels are around the sweet spot for backspacing/offset.

If you check out my lift write up, you’ll see everything I did to fit the 285s and I’m going to trim a little more.

Bitter sweet moment for me. You were my "non-lifted truck" inspiration for a while there. But i have to admit, it looks amazing now, just as it has always been!

Haha I know how you feel. I always said I wouldn’t but I’m never satisfied as-is. After getting into more serious offroading than I did in Florida, the stock suspension was really struggling with all of the weight I had especially when crawling in rock situations where some flexing of the suspension occurs.

Wait until you see the new bumpers on the truck. I’ve drifted pretty far from my stock look I had going for awhile

Beautiful truck man, also cool to see the evolution through the thread. I’ve been really considering a shell, about to pull the trigger on one soon. After seeing this I have to ask, what made you decide to go away from that set up? Anything in particular that you hated?

    Thanks! I appreciate it.

I loved the camper shell. We started doing more offroading and camping but we also have paddleboards so I wanted a setup that could accommodate both. I only have a 5ft bed so it was fine for me to camp in diagonally but would have been way too tight for the girlfriend, dog, and me all crammed in. If we all went, we'd just bring a normal ground tent. If I had a RTT on top of the camper shell, we wouldn't be able to bring the paddleboards. I also happened to find another TW member selling the mid-height bed rack, RTT, awning with brackets, and Rotopax with mounts as a package less than the price of a RTT new so I jumped on that. I also found another member selling a used Prinsu roof rack. Now we're able to have the RTT on the bed rack and still carry the paddleboards on the roof rack when we want to. The mid-height bed rack keeps the top of the tent roughly level with the roof rack. The bed rack also allows me to mount several accessories to the back of the truck that would normally take up a lot of space or not be feasible to have without the bed rack (RTT, awning, Rotopax water containers, traction boards, hi-lift, etc). I do miss the camper shell sometimes but am happy with the current setup especially for the price since it was all used.

    Nice high res shots

I need to take my bumper off and cut a little higher. Still looks good with the extra gap for flex (my Pelfreybilt bumper still rubs even tho it said it wouldn’t...).

    Thanks!

We left just enough for flex without rubbing I think at least I haven't noticed any rubbing yet for the bumpers.

I am rubbing some on the fender flares and liners in the front when flexed but only a little so I'm going to trim some more even though I did a decent amount of trimming when I did the CMC and pinch weld flattening

The offset of those SCS wheels is killer for tire rub. Before I got my bumper, I couldn’t make 285/75R16 duratracs work on -12mm Ray10s at all, thought it was going to rip the flares off from the front and back.

My bumper rubs right at the contour under the headlights as the plastic starts to dip back towards the sides of the truck on both sides. It’s not a big deal to me considering the bumper is already cut, but you know.. details.

I'm glad I went with the 17x8.5 4.3" BS -10mm wheels versus the 17x9 3.5" -38mm option. I love the deep dish look of the wider wheels but I'm pretty sure the rubbing would be way worse.

Well, one solution for your rubbing.. :sawzall:

One look at the -38mm thread for people attempting 285s.. hah. You need the cab mount relocation kit and some serious massaging to get those to be good.

    Aren’t the 17” wheels -10mm?
