Doesn’t the aftermarket thermostats set into the URD custom housing though? Without that housing and spacing I don’t think the thermostat would sit or seal right.

Not sure if it was posted already or not, but it looks like the 2nd gen specific radiator is up on the csf website. Part #csf7082

No drilling or cutting required with FJ radiator. Just a new fan shroud and reservoir. I did place a weather strip on the shroud for better fitting. Not disappointed I didn’t wait for this one. If I were getting a new one not knowing how easy it was to install I would probably get the taco one and keep my old shroud. Not sure if the size matters as much, but I’m no expert.

It has a smaller frontal area, but its much thicker, and two row instead of one row. I'd be interested in seeing more data on both tbh

The FJ version from CSF is two row as well.

Bottom line the FJ version offers a little more cooling surface area than the Tacoma version. I can understand that some people have to have plug and play, but really installing the FJ version gives you more bang for buck like I said way back when people started indicating a Tacoma specific releases was coming shortly.

Like I said, I agree 100%. I also have the FJ radiator. The FJ radiator is the better value as I said months ago before the cost of the Tacoma radiator was even known.
